All the screaming down the hall
Little whispers that've heard it all
Words that are said, not meant for little ears
What they see, and what they hear
Sadness breaking little hearts
Only understanding tiny parts
Tear stained pillows with little wet heads
Crying themselves to sleep in their little beds
Mean words cut deep into little souls
It brings on the tragedy of a heart full of holes
No one to trust, no where to run
Afraid to speak, or to play or have fun
Choosing people or not having a choice
No one can hear your little voice
Will they miss you if you go away?
Would they want to know what you'd say?
Packing your bag, you get ready to leave
No one notices the knife up your sleeve
Protecting yourself is all that you know
It doesn't matter if you have no where to go
You need to leave
You've heard them talk
You've heard your name
It's time to walk
Maybe if you left, they'd have reasons to smile
Maybe if you were gone, they'd be happy in a while
They'd have no reason to fight anymore
You should have left earlier when they fought before
Slipping out the door into the night
With the echoing in the distance, of their one last fight.
