-
I walk a thin line between the sea and sky,
a million foot drop and I cannot fly.
I risk my life on this thin line,
that it can hold me and I'll be fine.
-
My hands, untainted with blood or death,
but eyes so blackened with filth of breath.
A weight is added, now unstable,
the line could snap like a cable.
-
My feet, sore and red,
walking on wire that fills me with dread.
A weight is added, I start to tilt,
stumbling on a wooden stilt.
-
My lips, chapped and dry,
unmoving from a frown and parting to lie.
A weight is added, but balance I keep,
still this line is getting to steep.
-
I walk a thin line between heaven and hell,
I have yet to hear what there is to tell.
I risk my life of this thin line,
I look for a way, some sort of sign.
-
My arms, reach and grab,
looking for anything that will not stab.
A weight is added, I grit my teeth,
fighting from falling underneath.
-
My back, bending then straight,
won't reach the end at any rate.
A weight is added, I wish for no more,
but I know that there is much in store.
-
My legs, wore and aching,
feeling bones shattering, breaking.
A weight is added, I hear a crack,
the line is breaking, but there's no turning back.
-
I walk a thin line between young and old,
I am not a coward, but I am not bold.
I risk my life on this thin line,
knowing of a good time.
-
My mind, beaten and looked on through,
to who I am, I have not a clue.
A weight is added, my knees feel weak,
yet I can see the peak.
-
My heart, pulsing and silent,
how thoughts go from sweet to violent.
A weight is added, my heart's cage shakes,
with a pop, my ribs all break.
-
My eyes, blank and not crying,
whispers of others that I'm not buying.
A weight is added, yet I shed not a tear,
my mind as long forgotten my fear
-
I walk a thin line between insanity and sanity,
I'm starting to lose all my humanity.
I risk my life on this thin line,
seeking things that I still pine.
-
Myself, so lost and now confused,
left to walk and forever bruised.
A weight is added, and names I call,
through my memories, the light, the pain, I fall.
-
I walk a thin line between modesty and vanity.
I walk a thin line between human and inhumanity.
I walk a thin line between joy and anger.
I walk a thin line between safety and danger.
-
I've risked a life that is mine.
Until this day, I walked that thin line.
