• A blossoming rose on a summers eve
The pedals they feel the cool long breeze
A dying rose on a winters day
Shows all its life had drained away

The summer dewdrops shine with light
The winter nights freezing with fright
The cool wind blows to rest your head
You freeze and shiver alone in bed

The days are fast, the nights are quicker
No need for light for it only flickers
The days are cold, the nights are colder
The only light, a candle, until the flame grows older

The tears they freeze like sweat and dreams
The blankets grow used, they rip their seams
The sprinklers run long, the children play
Just to wake to the same old day

From one another they come and go
The transition from heat and cold
The coldness brings all that is quiet
The heat returns all things jubilant.
