Everyone knows those people -
The mountain unwavered by the storm,
The train unshaken by the truck,
The diamond unbroken by the cave-in,
Still strong.
In your moments of depression,
Of gloom and defeat,
You look to them.
You see their hardened surface,
Unphased by the oustide, you look at them,
You envy them, you want to
Be
Them. Until one day,
At the picnic, or by the water cooler, you look at them
And someone mentions the name of one of their
Old friends
From high school, they say the name,
"Victoria."
And that person,
The one that bounces bullets off their chest like they're Superman,
They cry.
And then you realize we're all the same.

- Description: Had written this last school year for English. We had to pick a poem and write a response poem for it. Sadly, I forgot what the name of the poem was that I responded to. I hope you enjoy reading anyways. I'd love to hear what you have to say!
