Waiting, by the sea, hearing the waves crash,
The salty aroma reaching my nose,
Crystal blue water resting at my toes,
Knowing that it can all change in a flash,
The bolts of lightning ring out like the clash
Of metal swords that battle, above rows
Of trees aligned with carnivorous crows
That wait for the burned fallen and their ash.
But those are forgotten times, from years past,
They have burned up and turned to ash, unknown
To the outside world, their names are long gone,
Someday they will remember, at long last
That they were freed from their chains, and now shown
The truth, they were forgiven and withdrawn.
