• In a corner of town, farthest back you can go
Is a beaten up, shady old bar.
    Inebriates cry, releasing their woes
Over dozens of rigged games of cards.

A new man in town who was mostly carefree
Though he'd stop in to see how it was
He didn't believe all the things he could see
And he couldn't imagine the cause

Broken men, broken families, displayed in the light
What used to be whole, fallen down
They all came in happy, seeking fun for the night,
Now lay peniless, crushed on the ground

As the man sat down for a drink and a game,
The cards moving quickly, a buzz in the air
He fell on the table, his mind filled with shame
His wallet was empty, his conscience laid bare

In a corner of town, 'neath a streetlight, you'll spy
    a devious criminal's bar
Inebriates lie, their poisons drank dry
And their money flown away in the dark
