Year 2610 Mankind has always been looking to the stars. For entertainment, for information, for guidance.
In 2234 Mans goal was achieved.
Nations formed together, they began the plans for a great space age, research began and we developed technology for space travel. It was first tested to reach Mars. The crew landed in under a year. It was monumental. It seemed to be the last break point we needed to advance. In only twenty years following we were reaching planets we could have never hoped to reach. We found planets able to support life. Those that didn't were terraformed using the latest technology. However we were not able to maintain our amazing blitz into space-faring technology and advances soon slowed to a near halt. We colonized near over 94 planets in the process. Then another amazing discovery was produced, the Light-speed Jump-Gate. With the Light-Speed Jump-Gates now built near every Human civilization, ships were able to fly through these large circular gates that propelled the ship at light speed through space. Space travel hit an all time record speed through the process of "Gate-Jumping". Gate-Jumping was so named because the ships had to jump from one gate to another in order to reach their final destination. The reason being, it was impossible to maintain this Light-speed. However, in 2574 a generator was created to maintain the speed generated from the gate, Longer. This process has made the amount of Gate-Jumps a ship had to make, significantly lower. Cryo-sleep, is a thing for the history books. Many companies, corporations, and guilds have set out to control as many planets as possible. At the moment, humanity is at a state of "friendly competition" there aren't any major conflicts, and life is fairly easy. Humanity seems to have lost their craving for destruction and war.
