Pnytenshi Cold Lazarus Pnytenshi OOOooo... you live in Australia.... that's awesome.... suddenly i feel cold... Yush! Australia is fantastcio! But why does that make you feel cold? And I recently watched Michael Moore's latest Doco on Helathcare. Is it really that bad in the USA? it's worse in countries where the government pays for the healthcare... In Canada, you could wait for months to get an appointment with your doctor... Actually...that's not true. Unless you need to go to a specialist or have surgery, and that's the same situation here...often times you need to wait. But if you're just going to see your a family doctor, it usually only takes a couple days once you call and make the appointment, if even. Yes, Cold, it really is that bad.

In Canada, you could wait for months to get an appointment with your doctor... Well in his documentary it was showing that alot of Americans would NOT get any money from their Insurance companys even if they had fukll cover. He went through quite a number of people who had actually lost someone they loved because their Health Insurance wouldn't pay. One Health Insurance company told this woman with Ovarinan (Sp?) Cancer that they wouldn't pay because someone her age shouldn't get that cancer. And also what the news says about Cannada is a complete load of BS. I know alot about Cannada and as Moore shows in his Doco they have great healthcare. And its free. He went to Cannada to a hospital and asked the peoples there and none had waited more than 45 minutes for help and this room was packed. The woman mentioned above with the cancer actually went to cannada for treatment and they gave it to her. He went to Great Britan where Health Care is under one big Universal ting called NHS (National Health Service) and no one has to pay a cent for doctors or hospital stays, operations or ANYTHING. Oh wait they have to pay for medication. 6.95 pounds for ANY amount of prescription drugs they need. It don't matter if it's just 30 pills or 130, it still only costs 6.95 pounds, well unless you are under 14 or over 60. Then its free. France, Great Britain, Cannada and even Cuba have better helth care then USA and they are all free. I recomend the movie to anyone. It's a real eye opener. Micheal Moore is always trying to make everything look bad though. He's an idiot.

Ah yes, However the NHS suffers from tons of problems, Mainly the inhuman waiting times. If it's not lifethreatening, You're probably waiting for an hour most days. Unfortunately the NHS is horribly under staffed, but no one wants to do anything about it here, apart from pumping more money into a system that actually wastes more money than it uses for stuff it needs. Oh? How much do you know about NHS? Are you from Great Britain? < Serious Question. CAuse they interviewed a few doctors and tehy said there were heaps. One GP said he worked with 8 other doctors in the same GP office. your lucky to get 4 under the one roof here.

Which is why I decided to ask abouts it.

Viral C Well the U.S. health care system was driven to the ground because of the failure of one of Hilary Clintons plans Well not really. She just tried to fix it and she failed. The Health insurance companies paid off congress actually. And its funny how like 80% of them got jobs in the health insurance area soon after. EDIT: They also paid Hillary off rofl

GPs, there's usually enough of, but doctors in hospitals, that's another story.
I went in once after someone beat the s**t out of me, had a fookin' huge lump on my head, contact lens shot up in my eye and orange... goop was leaking from my nose and it too a good 45 minutes to an hour before I was seen

That sucks it took that long. And jsut as a sort of opposite to that. Some guy from USA went to go see that Abbey Road or whatever its called where the beatles walked, but he decided to walk it on his hands and dislocated his shoulder trying >.< The doctors and the hospital down the road fixed his shoulder and kerpt him there for a few hows to make sure it was right and all they charged him was $10 for some drugs and then off he went home.

Viral C Well the U.S. health care system was driven to the ground because of the failure of one of Hilary Clintons plans It was driven into the ground because the insurance companies and pharmaceutical industry controls the system. They could care less about people actually getting care, they want to make money. They're companies. That is what they're around to do. So many of my friends are having serious health problems simply because they can't afford to go to a doctor, and either don't have insurance or the insurance won't adequately cover what they need done. For one of my friends, it's cost her her job and therefore her insurance coverage, and even when she was 'fully covered' the company was yanking her around trying to pay out as little as possible.

There one major issue is the fact they are more than less paid off by someone or corrupt and their country is in shambles and a lot of people a blind to it until somebad happens to them and they end up one of the worse off.

For one of my friends, it's cost her her job and therefore her insurance coverage, and even when she was 'fully covered' the company was yanking her around trying to pay out as little as possible. Michael Moore took a bunch of the people he met through his movie on some boats and tried to get them into Guantanimo Bay Prison because the prisoners there have better health care there then most americans and its free, even the guards agree. Of course they didn't get in, so they went to cuba to see what it was like and these people all got their cripling medical conditions they had for years fixed by the doctors there for free. and these were 9/11 volunteers whose injuris came from helping the rescue efffort and were forgotten by the government. Most had pretty bad repretory problems. One woman gets uncontrolable cough fits alot of the time and nothing can stop it. She gets these puffers that cost $120 in the USA but when they went to Cuba they only cost 5c that's right $0.05! FIVE CENTS! How insulting is that? EDITL The doctors did actually "Fix" them but they actually gave them a dianosis they hadn't been alllowed to get in the USA and were able to tell them exactly what they needed to do to get better. They even got one women done from 9 different kinds of pills to only 4
