I'm thinking about doing the DeviantArt Okami challenge but I'm not sure if I should do it...

The idea I want to do will either be digital art in the style of traditional sumi-e (black/brown inks of various concentrations on a textured "canvas" of sorts) or the modern watercolour versions for the game. I was thinking of drawing a human Amaterasu with the wolf avatar of sorts. I have the image in my head but I doubt I have the skill for it. I'd probably make it a little distorted (slight sepia or perhaps blemish it somehow) to make it look aged.
Also, it'll involve textures for human Amaterasu's robes. I have no problem with making textures; I have problems making anatomy right and finding some way to simulate Japanese calligraphy brush strokes.

No... I don't have a tablet. I'd probably end up sketching it out on watercolour pad first then scanning it in somehow. I'd really like to get some ink and possibly some paintbrushes though to try it. Mayhaps I'll buy some on Friday...

What can I say, aretoo, I can verbalize pretty much anything.
Anyway, I need to get to sleep. I just remembered that the roofers are going to be here tomorrow and it's impossible to sleep through the racket they make...
