I love I Kissed a Girl but I don't like liking it. X3 *finds it heterosexist, homophobic, and degrading to women, but loves the catchiness*

The whole song implies that the mere act of kissing or having some romantic association with a person of the same gender is wrong and deviant.
I think it's just me and my group of gay/lesbian friends here that think that though.
Don't mind me; I'm just saying my thoughts about the song.

I only like "I kissed a girl" for it's catchiness. It has a nice dancey-beat.
I need music now. ^^
EDIT: @Sanzo: I hope you know that I'm totally stealing your puppy now...

It's still something that's considered taboo, and I think that's what she's saying in the song. She likes kissing women (or one girl, at least), and although she's a bit confused because of all the traditional views on the matter, she doesn't believe there's anything wrong with experimenting. She liked it.
=) It's just a song, we're allowed to have differing views, hehe.

My friends and I are very critical in our music listening (part of being a music major) so we sort of pick up on things like this. Also, a lot of my friends are regular volunteers and members of HRC, local feminist chapters here, and are strong queer allies so... well... we're just weird. Forgive me if I'm being overzealous; I'm not trying to tell you it's wrong to like it, but why I don't like it (and feel bad liking it X3).
Edit: The song, indeed, does say "It's no big deal; it's innocent", but it does affect people in negative ways, that it does, really. Like I said, don't mind me too much. I'll just shut up now about the song and the things my friends and I argued about it.

The world was normal...
I love how no one really pays attention to me when I'm posting on Reiku's computer.
Now that I'm on another computer (still at his house) things should be good. Am I right?
Hello everyone. heart

I think it just depends on the listener on what the song is about...biggest critic is the audience....or was it your peers?...You know what, just forget what I said. xP

It's totally fine, Lin. =D I can see where you and your friends are coming from.
It just makes me happy to hear a song with this sort of subject matter being played on mainstream stations.

I'm not so picky about songs, I consider myself a strong feminist but I don't go all psycho fem-nazi on people cause that pisses even ME off. And... I'm really weird too xd
