Customer: "My Internet Modem said to call you because my Microsoft isn't working."
Me: "Alright, so your ISP referred you. Microsoft is a company; a company that makes many computer-related products. Which product are you calling about?"
Customer: "My Microwave Vista 98. It doesn't work."
Me: "...Doesn't work how? And do you have Vista or 98?"
Customer: "I cannot connect to the page server and see my mail."
Me: "Okay, we'll get some information from your system. Please click on your start menu?"
Customer: "What?? I'm not a technician, you can't expect me to do that! What's a start button?"
Me: "The button. The button that says START."
biggrin I just have to get a number from their system properties. I cannot imagine trying to get them to do anything technical.
Edit: And then there was the lady...I asked her to right-click on something. Her response was, "Well how does it know which hand I'm using?"
Or the lady who was holding the mouse to the screen and clicking...

I find teaching music, and helping one grow in their faith (or lack-of-faith) lives, to be a lot more tolerable than having to help people through mundane tasks like what Tae described.

It makes me laugh...the first 20 times. It gets tiring after that and I'm not even remotely technical.
