'kay, I've got a question. That someone else will ask for me.
I (think I) know what I am doing here, after a quick google (I told Celes this would suffice, but she was like ASK JIRO ANYWAY BAH), but I'm attempting to install Ubuntu (8.04) on this computer using an alternate CD. So it throws me into Manual Partition Fun Time! and tells me I need to choose a partition for the root filesystem. The computer is already partitioned for this, and all we need to do is install the system... we have our little ext3 filesystem, it's nice and all. But how would one go about doing this? -anon

On the manual partition manager, it lists the partitions that you already have on the computer, yes-yes? From there, select your already-made EXT3 partition, and change the mount point to "/". That's what your root partition will be. You should be able to select it by just highlighting the partition and pressing ENTER.
Also, make sure you have a swap partition, but I assume you already made that. :3

You know... it's interesting... I'm researching some of the homebrew for the Nintendo DS and I'm seriously considering buying a handful (about 20-30) Nintendo DS Lites, flashing them, and putting on music creation software on it. It's surprisingly good, and can connect wirelessly to MIDI devices like keyboard synthesizers and PC music creation software. I think it's a cheap and viable way to get music synthesizers in the hands of students.
