Lin: Yes, I am feeling better now, just worn out. I was sick Monday, sore throat and a fever and nausea. My throat got worse Tuesday. By Wednesday, I couldn't swallow, and by that evening I was having some trouble breathing, and I had a migraine, so I had to go to the emergency room.
Because of the fact that I take anti-depressants, they assumed I was "mentally ill" and had OD'd on something. Like, hello, I'm sick, no deaf, I can hear you talking about me.
And I told everyone I spoke to about my *severe penicillin allergy* (standard antibiotic for most people), and they all wrote it down. By the time I got to a doctor, he tried to shove a syringe full of pink liquid down my throat (penicillin). I asked him if it was penicillin. He nodded. I told him I'm allergic. He said, "Why didn't you say so sooner?"
In the end, they gave me some shots of steroids, and someone was going to give me codeine until another nurse rushes over and in an "hushed" tone tells the other one that I'm a "possible over-dose". =/
K0m0d0: I've had a horrible time in hospitals. It's nothing to do with the sterilization (I'm a neat-freak) and everything to do with the way they treat me like I'm some sort of psycho. *cuddles up in blanket* Thanks.
Laz: I'm a he. sweatdrop *goes to put that in his sig*
And I'm not contagious.

That's incredibly stupid and... well... ignorant of them. You'd think professionals would understand what it means to be allergic, and would exercise some caution after hearing about it the first time. At least you're feeling better now though, and I hope some good rest will help keep that better-feeling going.
K0m0, I'm glad I did alright too, but I'm a bit frustrated by the not being able to steam milk correctly. Each and every time I tried to steam milk I could not get it at all.
Jaft, that... was punny as always, though my head hurts from it (or it's because of a headache for not getting enough sleep). :3

D: If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure they're just being as careful as possible. It's hard to work in medicine without making people uncomfortable.... And, if not, then I guess people can just be reasonless jerks.
As for the penicillin, that's just close to malpractice. D<
*patpat*
I hope you have better experiences with hospitals in the future.

The only medical professional I like is my neurologist, because he's insane and it's awesome. And I only see him once a year. =)
My allergy by itself is bad, but not life-threatening. It makes me, er...violently unable to keep anything in my stomach, and breaks me out in hives all over. But that, on top of everything else (especially considering my throat was practically sealed) would have really sucked. x_X
They were all very nice people, but...ugh.

Ciel Avec Cafeine Laz: I'm a he. sweatdrop *goes to put that in his sig* And I'm not contagious. I watched a Yaoi once, I didn't realise until half way through...
Take no notice, I don't xd I tend to just type with half a brain on, if that. If it wasn't for firefox and is red underlines, my posts would be full of spelling errors.

Well, my avatar is a girl. x3 At least I don't have the girl legs in my sig anymore. Firefox slaughtered my posts with red underlines until I downloaded a Canadian spell-check. =D

I'm allergic to penecilin also and have pretty much the same reaction.

See ya Lin. Have fun. =)
Laz: It sucks. When you get sick, do they give you the gross medicine? It's probably in pill form now (for those who can swallow). But when I was little (and now), I was prescribed this rancid-tasting stuff that just...egh.
I took a dose at 7 and it's midnight now, and I can still taste it. My roommate's cat takes penicillin and it looks and smells so much nicer.

I've never been really sick. Only had to go to hospital for that phnumonia (sp) when i was like 3, which is when they discovered my allergy i think, a broken leg at about 8 (i pulled a brick wall down on my thigh breaking it) and once again when I was little for a dislocated elbow.
