hehehe I have heard that variant on it, Tsuji, but it's not the one I learned first. ^_^
(I'm enjoying all the other jokes and stories, too!) mrgreen
Then there were the twins with the polar opposite personalities. As they grew older, their parents became a bit concerned, as one (Joe) was as sour and pessimistic as could be, while the other (Jimmy) was just as sunny and optimistic as his brother wasn't.
The parents took the boys to a psychologist, and after some consultation with the boys, had a conference with the parents. "Joe," he said, "needs to learn that there is some good in life. Shower him with attention, give him the latest and best toys, and spoil him rotten.
"Jimmy, on the other hand," the doctor continued, "needs to learn some of life's 'hard knocks' lessons. Withhold some attention, give him lousy gifts, anything to let him know life will be handing him the occasional disappointment."
The parents, while thinking the recommendations were a bit draconian, decided to give the unorthodox suggestions a try, and on their next birthday they gave the twins their presents.
Joe opened his presents, and sat morosely amongst piles of brand-new designer clothes, the latest in computer games, and other toys and gadgets.
"What's the matter, Joe?" his parents asked. "Don't you like your new things?"
"Well," Joe sighed, "The clothes will no longer fit in a short while, and even before that will be out of style. The video games and the toys will only give me a scant few hours of fun before they break or develop glitches, and the same for the gadgets. It's better for me to just let them be."
Meanwhile, they noticed that Jimmy was happily digging through the large box they had given him, and was flinging handfuls of the horse manure enclosed hither and yon in his search through the box.
"Why, Jimmy," said his parents, somewhat taken aback, "what on earth are you doing?"
"Well, Mom, Dad," Jimmy happily said, "With all the horse manure in this box, SURELY there's a pony in here SOMEWHERE!"

Fanboying. Yes. Let's go with that. ninja Well... the conversation did get pretty heated. I decided to excuse myself once the circle jerk turned into a ePeen fight about which version was better.
Edit: Oh wow, aretoo... *laughs*
