Sanzoskitsune ohh okay thank you aretoo, I might have to see that movie now @Tsuji crying the worst part is that I get the correction you made and makes more sense than Lin's commentary Read the book, Sanzo. It'll take a third the time it will to watch the movie. A fourth if you fall asleep and have to backtrack like I did. @aretoo — Mind the average age, here, aretoo. I'd be surprised if anyone younger than 35 has seen it that isn't a film nut, sci-fi nut, or film student.

...Someone else HAS seen Brazil, right? (Please?) neutral
Tsuji: That's a bit before my time, even, but then again, I *am* both a film nut and a sci-fi nut. I actually own (and have read) the 3 sequels to 2001. (It's been a while, but...)

...Now aretoo wants to read Stephen R. Donaldson's "Mirror of Her Dreams" series... ...Why don't you just remove the mirrors, Sanzo?
Tsuji: I checked, it was made before I was born, too... smile
Gee, Kusa, you'll have to hurry home so you can see the Daikon Bros. DVDs again... mrgreen

Yes, it is, Tsuji. Terry Gilliam plus Orwellian fantasy. Bob Hoskins is in it, too. It really is brilliant.
EDIT: The problem with *reading* 2001 (I can't believe I just said that) is that there are some very iconic moments in the movie that have been "quoted" in numerous movies and shows since, and without seeing them, one won't get the references.
