@GTR: Honestly, I feel like one of those people. I knew it was going to be hard but I didn't realize exactly how much mixing, editing, and overlapping sounds you had to add it. Although, after listening to the genre for the last couple hours after attempting to make something, I realize that I have to kind of start out soft, or soften up my bass and snare claps a bit.
I still have to find the proper sound on my keyboard that lets me do kind of a static wah deep in the background, among other things.
Complicated desu~.

Techno really is suprisingly hard...
It shouldn't be, seeing how it's pretty much "UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ" music...but yeah..from experience...
It's a lot harder to make sound good than lets say a small piano piece c_C

You want to know how to make great Techno? Listen to Orchestra and Video Game music.
That's where it's at. All of the basics are the exact same.

Haha, I love video game music.
But I guess I really should break it down and start basic instead of rushing into something complicated since I don't really have much of an idea of what I'm doing, let alone want to do, to make a song.
A simple on-beat bass kick and off-beat hi-hat, add some snare here and there, then overlap that with on-beat bass and some syncopated high notes or something.
Honestly, making a rock song is so much easier. But, that could be because I'm well practiced in that genre and know how to do it well. I wonder. whee
