I don't know any bears personally.
I don't really go out to the gay bar often, and when I do they don't associate with anyone that isn't in their group. They just huddle together and are hairy. Hairy and anti-social. =D
lol I hardly ever go out to the bars; once in a great long while to go dancing. I don't drink, though, and don't like cigarette smoke, so...
I tend to know them through friends of friends and the like... and one of them who lives locally is a professional writer of Star Trek and superhero novels and books, and who is also the curator of the Wonder Woman museum.
smile And one of my former Scouts from when I was a summer camp program director was Mr. Oregon Leather Cub a couple years ago (I knew him when he was *14*!)
