Free health clinic is only on Wednesday. It opens at 10 am, but they have people waiting there as early as 6 almost every week. I don't have the ability to wait up there with a bunch of other sick people for 4 hours, and still not be guaranteed a check up.
EDIT: I'd come to Canada if I could Tae, I have quite a few people I'd like to visit up there anyway, but I have no passport or money to get there = / Besides, I need to save up my money for my passport and trip overseas anyway... I wanna visit England, Germany, Austraila, Japan, Vietnam, Korea, and then come back on the west coast of the U.S. and go to Cali, Washington, Nevada, Texas, Minnisota, Florida, and then come home for a week before leaving to Canada to visit a bucn of ATGers. Unfortunately, that trip will require more money than I could ever hope to have, so that plans put on hold unless I win the lottery.

I don't really understand the system...
But isn't throwing up blood an emergency? It means something's bleeding in there, and that's not good. If someone had, say, a heart attack, and had to be taken to the emergency room, would they get his money before treating him? o_O
I'm just curious because I'm not familiar with how it works in the US. I know emergency room visits are expensive, though; I had to go one time, and I had accidentally let my health card expire. It cost $250 for a 15 minute talk with a doctor. x_X

Pay first, even if they're dying and only have minutes?
Even for the US, I find that hard to believe. sweatdrop Can't they just bill the person once they're sure he's not going to die?
Edit: When I was little, I had a few seizures where I stopped breathing (before I got it under control with meds), and I know from experience that a few minutes make all the difference. x_X So it's kind of a scary thought, I guess.
What if someone was homeless, would they refuse to treat him/her?

that I dunno...but I do know that even before they treat you in the ER, if you're a walk in, you have to sit and fill out a bunch of paper work... I've had to drive my mom a few times, and god...that wait is just stupid. You'd think you would have to fill out all that stuff after, but they make you do it before.

It's the same for us. Even if you're in a ton of pain, it's not unusual to wait for like 6 hours in the ER. I'm technically not a resident of this province (my health card is for Nova Scotia, not New Brunswick), so I have extra paperwork to do.
If you can walk into the ER, that's one thing, but if you're taken by ambulance, I assume they treat first and bill later. Hard to fill out forms if you're unconscious. "Give me 3 ccs of atavan, STAT! We need some new gurneys, and if he doesn't make it, we can't afford them!"

I don't click eggs because I don't see them. razz There was a particular user awhile back that had a "post style" that was obnoxiously full of random images, including the eggs. I blocked the images because they drive me nuts,
So now I don't see anyone's eggs. =)

Here, you have to fill out a bunch of papers, but if you're bleeding profusely, they treat you first, then you get billed a s**t load of money.

The Hippocratic Oath prevents a Doctor from refusing to work on a patient who is in critical condition. There is no legal recourse for them if you absolutely need the help.
Throwing up blood is not good but it probably isn't life threatening unless it is a lot of blood. Like a good pint or two. If so you probably shouldn't even sitting up let alone outside of a hospital

It's not a pint or anything like that when I throw it up, it's probably 1/4th a cup to 1/2 a cup at most... That I've thrown up so far, not every time I do it. It usually just comes out a little bit at a time when I'm doing it.
