I've only had it since, oh, July? x3
I think what it is, when you have the jewelry in, your tongue doesn't rest on the bottom of your mouth, because there's the ball on the end of the barbell there. Your facial muscles just get used to a new way of moving, I guess. x3 I had to relearn how to make certain sounds when speaking, and I had to relearn how to eat.
I sort of unconsciously check to make sure nothing's come loose while I'm eating while chewing my food. xd
