Robert Jordan DIED before finishing the 12th book in the elaborate Wheel of Time series. stare It'll be finished by someone else, though.
Elcia: I get what you mean. I really didn't think the first couple Potter books were good at all; I didn't enjoy them, and I thought they weren't very well written, either. I'm glad I did read past the second book, though, because it improves drastically. It's no great literature, by any means, but it did get a lot more entertaining, in my opinion.
But yeah, the first two books sucked.

I wish I had time to read more books. There is a few I wanna read. I few that I already own and want to read, but I just don't seem to find the time.
Maybe I should play video games less and cut down on internet times.

Surazal Dloc I wish I had time to read more books. There is a few I wanna read. I few that I already own and want to read, but I just don't seem to find the time. aretoo is fond of books by Tanya Huff and Mercedes Lackey; part of me hopes JK Rowling is going to go back and do a "director's cut" of the first two books; they're the slimmest tomes, and I think she could, now that she's a more accomplished author, "polish them up" a bit. Though I hope that wouldn't go the way of Lucas's projects... smile

The Abhorsen/Old Kingdom trilogy by Garth Nix are awesome books to read.
(Sabriel, Lirael and Abhorsen)
And the Keys to the Kingdom books, again by Nix are good too.
(Mister Monday, Grim Tuesday, Drowned Wednesday, Sir Thursday, Lady Friday and Superior Saturday) Waiting for the last book to be released, Lord Sunday. Probably out next year at the earliest.
The Artemis Fowl books by Eoin Colfer are... okay. The second most recent book, Lost Colony, was a bit lacking, but some the earlier books are good. Also, "Supernaturalists" by Colfer (again) is pretty good.

Well Silver I think for Sci Fi you should check out Julie E. Czerneda's books.
The series I read, Species Imperative, was very good. It was not far out, it is rather believable. She's a biologist like the main character in the series.
Edits: Judging from what I have seen of your personality, I think you'll like a number of the characters and love to hate several others.
