Also, guys, I need a good book recommendation in either one of these categories: bildungsroman, non-oversentimental love story, romanze, or science fiction/fantasy.

Non-oversentimental love story: Is there such a thing?
Romanze: I don't know what that is...
Science fiction/fantasy: I've been loving William Gibson lately. Try Neuromancer to see what made him famous, or Pattern Recognition for something more contemporary.
