Either that or you already have it set to whatever you're trying to "change" it too. That or you have a bit of malware that's preventing a change... Those are surprisingly common...

Yeah something is stupid with my laptop. It even goes to sleep and logs out when I leave it unattended for a bit, even though I've changed the power settings. Pisses me off.
