Hiya! ^_^
And, uh, bye-a? confused
@Kerries: True enough, but Oregon (particularly the Willamette Valley, where Portland, Salem, and Eugene are) is quite temperate; I've heard our weather compared with England, near London. With, uh, less fog. smile This weekend we're getting into the 20s F, with arctic storms coming from Siberia, with snow, freezing rain, sleet possibilities. Y'know, just to keep life interesting. wink

Rice is cooking so I can come back. :3
Oh! Aretoo! Which would you recommend to get to Oregon? Bus to California then bus to Oregon, or get to Oregon via train?

See ya later! ^_^
@Linny: Well... I've never taken either, but I understand the train is more comfortable, and you'd be crossing the Rocky Mountains, which is very scenic. However, the train would also be more expensive. smile

*purrs* It's such a hard decision to make. But I wouldn't mind being less frugal if it meant I get to ride a train through the Rocky Mountains. I just wish I had a better camera for it. The thought of riding a train through the rockies is... romantic.

I really agree with you there... It'd be MY choice of the way to travel, if not driving. Also, you can catch the Cascades Amtrak right down the Pacific coast, too, if I'm not greatly mistaken. smile

Hmmmmrrr... I wonder if it would be better to get a train pass (do they make those) instead of a bus pass. My camera isn't that good, but I could take some very pretty pics with it.

...I honestly don't know. I wonder if AmTrak has something similar to the Eurail pass for students...? But yes, pictures of the Rockies would be lovely! ^_^

YES
I think I'm going to do train the entire way. The 15-day pass from Amtrak is, oddly enough, cheaper than a Greyhound. And the route from Minneapolis to Portland goes through North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and ends up in either Seattle or Portland. I'm debating on stopping at Seattle just to take the Cascades route down to Portland. heart

I'd take the train over cars any day. A more varied crowd, but sooo much more pleasant.
And heya, Aretoo! Lin! biggrin heart
