Because Gaia stopped caring about its guild, that's the only reason I can think of.

Gaia devs have to eat, too, and they apparently can't come up with a way to make money off from guilds. So why would they spend time and energy there?

Yup, that's the mentality of the world. If you can't make money off of it, don't bother keeping it around.

Well I'm not saying its BS for them to try and earn a living, I'm saying its BS not to work on something your members use. Yes it may not earn you as much money but it wouldn't kill them to maybe take a little time to do updates on Guilds every now and then, not huge updates just try and keep it up with the main forums, even if it is behind and work out some of the kinks. This is a FREE site, so why is it all the FREE stuff is crap? That's the disappointing thing. Hell ever since they opened the cash shop they've stopped updating shops as much which while understandable that they want to make money shop updates would be nice, shop updates that didn't look half-assed

I'm not saying it's bad of them to try and earn a living either. But to not keep the whole website up to date and ignoring the free parts in favor of things that earn them money is just messed up.

Gaia is master of not having suck things. And why complain? The guilds are STILL HERE. They could outright remove them without issue. Sure, they'd have a lot of unhappy customers but so what? They already have a lot of unhappy customers. Just be glad that we still have guilds at all.

I'm happy guilds are here, quite happy despite all the glitches and things. Honestly I don't complain much about Gaia, I figure they do what they do, I've even defended it to people who say its become a "pay site" I just think that first I don't need to be complacent, no one should be and informing Gaia of its issues in guilds is not complaining but telling them "hey maybe you should be aware of this" but first off they don't listen which is annoying in and of itself, and second we don't even have a place to do that anymore. The topic about the Captain's guild came up and I posted my opinion on it, please don't get mad at me and tell me not to complain when I'm simply posting my opinion.

It is a bit annoying when they get rid of things like the Captains Guild where issues with the site can be brought to their attention so that you at least know that they know. Things like that are a good thing for any website to have so that improvements can be made, and suggestions taken into consideration. How else are they going to know about such issues?
