Linux, traditionally, requires a good deal of geekery. Lately, however, there have been a number of easy to use distributions that have been released, the most prolific being Ubuntu. Driver support can still be pretty spotty for it, so if you have a lot proprietary parts you may want to shy away from it.
If you have a computer that you tinker around with a bit, though, I would highly recommend installing Linux. Just to play with.

Pisces - Ubunto, Kubuntu, and especially Mandriva can be pretty good for new Linux users, and have a pretty easy to learn GUI on them. If you're computer is running Windows Currently, I suggest downloading Mandriva and installing it on a separate partition of your hard drive. You could install it on there without getting rid of windows, so you can go back to windows if you begin to get too confused with it.
I've been well though.
And now I'm off again. I need to fix my wireless router upstairs because it keeps kicking me from the net. Talk to you all later =D
- EDIT -
Mandriva is able to be booted on the same System as Windows, and can reach into the windows system to grab drivers for some items. I'd suggest that if you were looking to check out Linux. I probably should have said that >_>

I'm with you on that one, Sanz... I'd love to be more proficient with the machine that dominates a good portion of my time, but I just... can't. It's probably better if I don't understand it. If I did, I'm sure I'd waste all of my free time. All of it. xd

@Pan- actually, there was a Chinese restaraunt in my neighborhood that actually had to get shut down because the inspetors found they were selling dog and cat meat. Apparently it tastes liek pork or beef.
@Pisces- I haven't been called that in ages. Lately it's been VG
@Sanzo- I love Pan's Labyrinth. Especially the Pale Man.
