Hiya!
I might note that characters all vary depending on who writes them, and when. Catwoman, for example, CAN be a very nuanced character; for example, Gail Simone wrote a very strong Catwoman character when writing Birds Of Prey. (She's also the one who effectively used Barbara [Batgirl] Gordon effectively as Oracle, turning a character that had been put into a wheelchair into one of the strongest characters in the DC universe: Oracle)
