I find it interesting how House refuses to deal with any kind of loss in a normal manner. Hell he didn't even deal with his father's death like anyone else would have.

Apparently the writers opted for the suicide because it was very unexplainable and House would have a hard time with a puzzle he couldn't solve.

Heh, the writers like to torture their character like that.
