Losing my mind because I'm arguing with a friend. He has been involved in "protests" around LA, blocking opposite-sex couples from getting marriage licenses. I'm adamantly opposed to what he's doing, and am fed up with his bullshit. Less than two weeks ago he was arguing with me about how gay people shouldn't even want to get married.

@Pisces: You can also fly under Bass's flag. : D We're like...sister ships. Yarrr. His ship do have glory and booty, and we have...well, mixed drinks and rainbows and a diff'rent kinda booty. On Fridays, mostly.

That would be my point. It's immature and it's not helpful. Straight couples are legally entitled to get married. All they are doing is convincing the bigots that they are right, and pissing off people who would normally be neutral or even sympathetic.

Have a sit in, make some useless posters, whatever. That's pointless, but not harmful. Physically blocking straight couples from getting married? That's hostile and doesn't look good on the community as a whole.

Isn't that what little children do? "I can't have fun, so neither can you!"

Yeah no kidding, that's not really gonna help anything. It's only going to make things worse because then it paints the gay community in a very very bad light.
