I think it's just a dialect thing. Canadian English and American English differ a bit.

I know dependent is an adjective whereas dependant is a verb, but as far as dependancy versus dependency goes, I don't think it matters.

Gah. I love being the older cousin. *Sighs.* I have a family member who wants to quit high school and do home schooling when she's almost to the graduating point. She's a junior now and has only one year of high school left. It'd be silly of her to switch gears now.

Sadly, she's hard-headed and needs a lot of pushing.

I actually understand how that feels, as I'm about to turn 16 myself. Dropping out is a very tempting possibility, but.... I don't know. I could never do that because I'd always think about how much better I could have done.

She wants to go through a company called Kaplan. They're primary specialty is testing and preparing kids for college. At her age, she needs that social interaction. She thinks she's going to be moving again (she moved to Idaho from Alaska) and doesn't want to go through all that weepy drama.

I told her that she couldn't run away with life. She tells me my aunt, her mother, will let her do it if she knows about the program, but heaven's sake, it's JUST her, her older sister and her mother. From what I know both my aunt and the older sister work during the day, which would leave Summer all alone. I'm sure she can handle being alone, but to do that when she's half way done is kind of silly to me.

...I certainly don't mind Bowie, either! (aretoo and Kusa had a lovely day, after aretoo got off work, heading out to farm country and reaping 10 pumpkins (9 for carving, one for baking), bell peppers, apples, honey, and tomatoes, both ripe and green (for frying)...) ^_^
