I'll paint you mornings of gold, I'll spin you Valentine evenings...I'm not much of a gaming girl. I like my cutesy games, like Pokemon or puzzle games. Arc pointed out that I would be more suited for persona games. I originally posted for the position to get more associated with games.
It's a little annoying to sit there and listen to people talk about this-game or that-game and I have no idea what's going on. It'd be good have some sort of foundation I can launch myself off of into the conversation.
Besides all that, I just need a freakin' job. Though we're strangers till now, We're choosing a path between the stars.

Well, it might also be cool if they give you a discount. Even if you don't like too many games, they always make great gifts smile
Hey Jaft biggrin

One of the best ways to get associated with games is to read a gaming magazine or website.
Edit: Hey baby, makes babies? o3o

I'll paint you mornings of gold, I'll spin you Valentine evenings...@Jaft: I'm sorry. I come off as snotty when I brag about the information I know. I'd rather learn about the games hands-on. Besides, if I do get the job and have a mother who's looking for a good, clean game for her 5-year-old, I could be of help.
So, don't go and tell me I won't get it, 'cause you never know. They were willing to give me an interview when all I have on my resume is volunteering at a hospital and working for 3 months at a library. Though we're strangers till now, We're choosing a path between the stars.

I meant good luck working there.
....
Edit: Also, it's good to work in a gaming shop, but unless you have the money and time to play every single game in there, you might not be as helpful as you think. Now if you spend the time to read game reviews from let's say Game Informer, which they should stock in GameStop since the two are related, or Gamespot.com, you'll be better armed with the information that your customers may need. And you might want to take a look at some articles about the three major consoles too. The difference between a PS3 Slim, a PS3 160GB, a 360 Elite Pro or a 360 Arcade Edition, etc., etc.

When it comes to working at GameStop, remember this.
The people I've known who've worked there said they're constantly asked what system do they recommend... whee

I'm offended by that diagram thing as a PS3 owner.

Never, ever, ever recommend the Xbox Arcade Edition to anyone. With 256 or 512mb of internal memory, it's quite useless unless you don't care about downloading and the installation of some games. ;D
I TOTALLY DOUBLE POSTED. 8D

lol I'm amused by the chart. Of course, the only game system I own is a PS2 ..so, it doesn't really apply to me.

I'll paint you mornings of gold, I'll spin you Valentine evenings...I'm willing to learn, so I'm sure that management will take that into consideration.
Gah. Jaft, you've gone a depressed me. Thanks a lot. When I go into the place, I'm going to be thinking, "I'm not going to get the job, I'm not going to get the job. I don't know anything about games, I'm so stupid, why would they want to hire me?" mad Though we're strangers till now, We're choosing a path between the stars.

You'll be fine, you'll just be reading up on things, people new to coffee who decide to work at Starbucks have to learn how to make an incredible number of drinks, they don't go in there with that knowledge already.
Edit: Aw, wtfudge? That's sexist, Alarias. Lol. I think they make up about a third.
