It's all rather stupid. I think it's less promoting elitism and more 'we only want you to buy and sell from shops.'

I want to know who or what prompted them to take out cigs and such. Because obviously these little pixels are getting people to smoke rolleyes

Well it was mainly the fact that I want to switch to something outside of engineering. My college is known for its crazy good engineering school so she was saying that if I'm not going to be an engineer then why bother going to that school.

So essentially, change it and we're making you switch schools.

Blargh.

I guess she's just trying to save money...? If a cheaper school offers the major you'd want to switch to...?

Be much more of a hassle to switch schools, though....

I guess. I've already taken out a s**t ton of loans to get here and I'm not really doing the best in terms of grades, so it's understandable. But still. I checked a couple of the colleges back home in AZ and the closest they have to what I want is Biochemistry.

Bleh.

Well maybe if you talk more with your mom about what major you want and how the school you're at is best for it, then she'll understand more?

Perhaps she just things you didn't think it out all the way. If you show you did the research then perhaps she'll be more open.
