Sorry it's a block of text, but I'm just copy/pasting from an IM convo.
Okay, Joseph (one of the Heralds and the person I drove over with) had done a submission of Viking Flat Bread for the cooking competition. Only problem is, he put too much wheat in his first attempt, which made it a disk of bread you could almost hammer a nail with. He brought it over to Darkclaw's camp this morning, just as he promised, and we started a game of frisbee with it in the area in front of the port-o-potties. At one point, a fighter named Sven and a knight named Sir Collin joined the game. Sven, who has played frisbee golf, was throwing it to Collin. Instead of pancake-catching it, he decided to grab it with one hand. He ended up getting a bad edge, and actually drew blood. He was showing it off and we were all cracking up all the way to the first aid tent, and I said, "You think we should tell His Majesty that one of his knights was wounded by Dwarven War Bread?" Because he didn't want us telling this story without him, Sir Collin actually led us to His Majesty to tell him what had happened, and even he gave it a toss or two. Then Joseph decided to tell Flieg, the kingdom bard, hoping he'd write a song about it. Next thing I knew, it seemed half the camp had heard the story of Sir Collin and the Dwarven War Bread. |
