It looks like I've gone and done it now. Mom's taking herself off my bank account and calling everyone to say how upset she is. She hasn't talked to me for two days now after I told her I wanted her off.

Oh well. It's not like we had a relationship to begin with.

Yeah well, it wouldn't be the first time she hasn't talked to me. In my eyes, she's trying to be my mom when I haven't really considered her that. She's just been... a guardian, I guess. My dad's the one who's been there for me.

I guess this will be my chance to take some amount of control over my life instead of having other people rule it for me. I'll ask the bank if they have an account for students that doesn't charge monthly fees.

My main fear is that she wants to control me. My dad told me that she's got the right to do that some, because she's my mother. He put it nicely in saying that I'm trying to grow up and she's trying to smother it.

I hope to move out when I graduate college. 'course, when that happens, it'll be a while because I have to find a house and have a decent job. Good luck with that in this economy.

@Chex I say it depends how old you are. If you're over 18 then your parents don't really have much of a say in your life but if your still in there house... then you kinda have to abide by there rules unless you want to get kicked out...

Yeah, I live with my parents. I turn 19 in April, obviously too young to get my own apartment. I can't go to her and say nevermind because she's made up her mind. She said I could kiss her a** when I need help.

Oh well.
