Can you catch the old ones in-game, or do you have to like...trade with someone who has an older version of the game...?

EDIT: You can catch most of them, some will require trading though. Sadly, though, emulators can't trade.

One would think the pokemon from Gold and Silver would be recognizable... they are after all the second gen...
As for Ruby and Sapphire, you're SOL if you're aiming for a Squirtle ^_^

Pokemon Black and White look interesting. At least they're back to doing colors instead of minerals for the names. I want one of those dark foxes xd
