Sentama Lin Counselors, they've been telling me the same things... but I already know it's me that I have to work on... It's up to me... It really is... Pretty much, you just have to find one thing to focus on, once you know the why its easier to fix the problem. It's still really hard though... at least you've got some motivation. I had a friend who just never managed to see that he could change and not act like he was worthless and that he deserved love less than anyone else in this world. That really hurt...

My father was always gone and working. My mother worked too...
...I guess I feel the same as you two... there really haven't been any parental figures in my life... hell I don't even have anyone to look up to.
I swear the only thing that has kept me going is that my friends and acquaintances would be sad to see me die by my hand. Without my friends and people that love me, I would've already jumped out my window.
...to tell you the truth, I never expected to live as long as I have... I thought I would've died a year ago.
Edit: Your friend, La Belle... that's how I feel all the time... that's why I work so much. In addition to forgetting my problems, it helps me feel that my life is worth it.

Arcanas Queen_Aries Arcanas La Belle Isolde Me neither, except the fact that I need some sort of father figure in my life. I feel very directionless, currently I lack the unconditional parental love that I desperately need right now (my mom tries but she's stressed and can barely care for herself, so she takes it out on me because my dad's not around anymore.... yeah, its complicated). Thanks to him I've joined the many people with "daddy issues". I'm just glad my cousin and little sister didn't have to go through what I did...I mean, I literally had to go from 9 to 19 in a matter of months...the closest thing they had to a father figure was me, and the only thing that I could call a father figure was my grandpa, who had died when I was 4 That must've been hard. I'm sorry. Quite, but the experience made me a better person as long as something (or someone in your case) came out good.

I don't have anyone. I remember my dad being a deadbeat and sleeping on the couch with a beer in hand. That's about it, and why I used to have such an aversion to alcohol. He's more of a father now that he's got a life with another woman... which kidna hurts in a way but I don't hate him for it either. I'm at peace with the fact he just isn't father material, I just wish I had a supplement. It was the same thing with my dad, except after he got off work, he would go out to a bar and come home stumbling and falling on his a** drunk...I swore to myself that I would never become like that person who makes up half of my DNA...

Sometimes you can look up to certain aspects of yourself, just for the sheer abilities you have you never thought you had before. Sometimes its something so simple, something like just saying how you feel about something trivial, it can be so empowering to do something like that when you've never done it before... those kinds of things keep me going. I've had issues with suicidal thoughts and cutting before, but every once in a while something truly amazing to me and myself only would happen... and it made me happy to be alive. ...God I hope I'm still making sense.

Sometimes you can look up to certain aspects of yourself, just for the sheer abilities you have you never thought you had before. Sometimes its something so simple, something like just saying how you feel about something trivial, it can be so empowering to do something like that when you've never done it before... those kinds of things keep me going. I've had issues with suicidal thoughts and cutting before, but every once in a while something truly amazing to me and myself only would happen... and it made me happy to be alive. ...God I hope I'm still making sense. ...My friends are the only thing keeping me alive now, La Belle... that and the thought that I might make a difference as a teacher...

Being a teacher is an incredibly noble and underappreciated profession. I wish you well in that endeavour.
