Well... I had a very close friend over for the weekend... we met up with a mutual friend Friday and went to the HP Lovecraft film festival at the local art movie theater, then went back to my place and played video games 'til the wee hours, then watched Nightmare on Elm Street (which I'd never actually seen all the way through). I then took the mutual friend back to his place (at 4? 5?), went back to the house and we zonked. We had a really good day the next day (started the day with some snuggling time, picked up a mask that Dan'd put on hold at the film festival, then killed some time before I went to work). I got off work early, had some more personal time w/him, then went to bed. Next morning we had breakfast together before I had to work, and after that, oddly, is when the day fell apart for the both of us...
I had a hectic day at work, compounded by the fact I mis-dated and had to do a large project, only to find I'd mis-dated it AGAIN, and when I finally escaped, I got back home to find Dan gone with no note. (I'd expected him to meet up with some friends, but when I didn't get a call on my cell, I thought it'd fallen through... so I was somewhat disappointed.)
What I didn't know is that Dan had fallen back asleep, overslept, got the bus route wrong, missed the right busses, and had delays... and missed meeting with his friends. The cell number he had for the friends didn't work from a phone booth, and that's when he called me (3 hours after he was going to meet with them.) I picked him up, we contacted one of the guys, and ended up going over there (after Dan and I worked off some of the frustration of the day with In The Groove at an arcade). The meeting went well (Dan was to have been introduced to this guy by a mutual friend, who was busy at that point), and we all had a fantastic time. After that, on the way back into town, we met with the guy who was to have introduced Dan to the guy we'd just met, and had coffee and talked... 'til 2. Then we crashed, and I dropped Dan off this morning.
Whew! ^_^
