Exactly. Seriously... although I am neutral on the Japanese versus Western debate (since I believe each contributed equally to the world of today), it irks me to find people who look through their own egocentric, egocultural, egoreligious, and egowhatever lens to make opinions. I wonder if he has actually lived in an Asian country?

I doubt it. I mean, I accepted his opinion, but I also argued his statements. I'm on my schools debate team for a reason, and my school is in the varsity division for a reason as well. If you are going to tell me i'm wrong, I'll argue back.

Yeah... I usually don't like the stupid culture versus culture debates. The thing is with culture is that it was suited for the type of life experienced in that area. And the Japanese way of life is wholly different from the European way of life.

He's all, "my opinion is more valid than yours. Western cuklture is more valid than eastern." CULTURE IS NEVER VALID! THERE IS NOTHING TO BE VALIDATED.
