I grew up on my dad's family farm; when I was about 8, my aunts, uncles, and father split up the property between all of them, and they sold off the parcel with the family farmhouse (a historic building finished in 1859). The people who bought it, a landscape architect and his wife, an interior designer, became our neighbors. A number of years ago now, she called me up and told me her assistant was moving on, and was I interested in working for her. I said, "Um, sure..." and the rest is history. ^_^
