How do you know it will be fake sympathy, Celes? That is a rather bleak outlook on those who stand ready to listen.

Because I've gotten fake sympathy from them before. When I told them my brother and sister were dead. I could see it in their eyes, and hear it in their voices.
EDIT: And it was obvious I wasn't really affected much by their deaths because I din't know them.

Silver Hellsing I was angry, and then I got depressed. Anger has that way with some people. It just burns you out and leaves you hollow, and that's when the depression kicks in. Celestial, understand this: it is difficult for those who have not been where you are to truely sympathize. For some people, the closest they can get is wanting to sympathise, or try to find something similar in their lives. The desire to see you happy again, and the feeling of emotional pain of any source, are still real though. Also, because I just saw your edit, it is hard to feel bad about losing someone who should be close, but isn't.

Celes, why then, if you hate them, and they hate you, were you trying to invoke sympathy you never wanted or needed from something that never affected you in a manner needing sympathy?

I wasn't. They asked a question, and I answered it. That answer involved me saying they were dead. I wasn't trying to get sympathy from them.
