Yesterday in art class, Teacher told the class to do a project about hands in any media they chose. Now, Slim is a freshman, but since she submitted a good portfolio to her teacher, she skipped a grade and takes art with 10th graders. This has benefits and disadvantages. A benefit is that she's challenged, and doesn't have to put up with many of her freshman peers that drive her bonkers. A disadvantage is that she skipped certain units in art. Namely, realism.
On an impulsive, kinda silly action, Slim hoisted up her pencil and a slab of butcher paper and, for the first time in her Slim-tastic life, attempted to draw a realistic hand. Now, Slim's never been good with such things. She always sticks her character's hands in their pockets or behind their heads so she doesn't have to draw them, and even her cartoons have lil circles for hands and no fingers.
