Thanks.

My Uncle survived the night and they have moved him to the Hospice. My Mom and Dad are there and they are keeping me posted as to what is going on. He seems to be doing better. They've given him Morphine and he's comfortable. My Mom said this place is very nice. They have a dog that wanders around there, plus they'll get him anything he wants. If he wants a beer, they'll get him a beer! xd

I've been keeping my Mom's spirits up as best I can. Before she left, I told her a joke:

"An Arizona cowboy on holiday in Mexico stopped at a local restaurant following a day of drinking and roaming around. While sipping his tequila, he noticed a sizzling, scrumptious looking platter being served at the next table. Not only did it look good, the smell was wonderful. He asked the waiter, "What is that you just served?" The waiter replied, "Ah senor, you have excellent taste! Those are bull's testicles from the bull fight this morning. A delicacy!"

The cowboy, though momentarily daunted, said, "What the heck, I'm on vacation down here! Bring me an order!" The waiter replied, "I am so sorry senor. There is only one serving per day because there is only one bull fight each morning. If you come early tomorrow and place your order, we will be sure to save you this delicacy!"

The next morning, the cowboy returned, placed his order, and then that evening he was served the one and only special delicacy of the day. After a few bites, and inspecting the contents of his platter, he called to the waiter and said, "These are delicious, but they are much, much smaller than the ones I saw you serve yesterday!"

The waiter shrugged his shoulders and replied, "Si, Senor. Sometimes the bull wins."

My mom got a big laugh out of it. We'll be talking on the phone about what is going on, and she'll start to sound sad, and I'll say, "Just remember, sometimes the bull wins" and she'll laugh. That's how my family is.

Well, relatively speaking, he is. He's still dying, but he's much more comfortable now.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, I'm sad because I'm losing my Uncle/Godfather. On the other hand, I'm hoping he'll pass on soon so he'll be at peace and won't suffer anymore. He's been going through hell for almost four months now. cry

I know one thing: I hope that when I die (Hopefully many, many years from now), it's not like this.

Well, I just got the news about 2 hours ago. My Uncle has passed away. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family. The showing is going to be Wednesday, and the funeral Thursday.

Needless to say, I won't be on Gaia for those days.

Not being on gaia is understandable.

The same thing happened with my Grandmother on my dad's side. She had really bad lungs from smoking a lot in her life and closer to the end of it she coughed a lot and it was retty bad. I also felt mixed feelings about when she died. But yeah, I know how it is.

Yeah. I can't wait for Sunday, or at Least Saturday night after work to enjoy not being at work. 12 hour day for me today, and it was all hard manual labor. I need to get a computer based job razz

Well, I'm back. The funeral was sad and all. My uncle had served in the Army during the Koren war, so they played Taps during the showing, which made everyone cry. crying It was a beautiful day for the funeral, sunny and cooler. I'm sure glad it's over. sweatdrop

I know how you feel about the manual labor. I did that for years, but now I have a computer based job. The only problem is now I'm gaining weight. gonk

Yeah, my job is pretty much the only thing that keeps me at my weight level. I guess I could always go outside more and cut down on the soda if I had a desk job. Dunno, maybe I won't be on the computer as much if I had to work on one, but that's no guarantee razz

I am always bad at funerals. If I am really sad I can't even cry at them. I dunno, I tense up and don't cry. I usually cry about it a little while later when I am by myself and no particular length of time afterwards and for no reason.

It's frikkin' crazy at work right now. My brother, who works at the same place I do only driving a semi-truck, is having a terrible time right now:

It all started back in June, when he hit the mirrors of 2 DOT trucks with the oversize load. He was in traffic, and a box truck changed lanes right in front of him so he couldn't see very far ahead, and as he was backing off of the box truck, there were the 2 DOT trucks along side the road, and my brother couldn't get over in time and took out the driver's side mirrors of both trucks. No one was hurt, but he got a ticket, which he paid.

Fast forward to yesterday, when my brother was driving again when some clown, who was talking on a cell phone, went from the far left lane, across the center and right lanes to make an exit ramp right in front of some traffic. Yes, my brother was part of that traffic. The clown made it, but some lady driving an SUV slammed on the brakes to avoid him and spun out, right into my brother's truck. Again, no one was hurt, but during the cleanup/police investigation, the following exchange took place:

State trooper: "Sir, are you aware that your license has been suspended?"

My brother: eek gonk "What?!"

Turns out that what happened is when the incident happened in June, the company had to show proof of insurance for the semi truck. Indiana gives you 10 days to some up with this. My brother handed the form to his boss, who faxed it to Corporate HQ in North Carolina, which did nothing with it. So, the state suspended my brother's license for failure to show proof of insurance. My brother's boss is understandably PISSED about this, and has been in touch with Corporate trying to get this sorted out. My brother's boss is very sympathetic to my brother's plight, and told my brother he will get this taken care of as quickly as he can. Meanwhile, my brother is a driver who can't drive, and is doing work around the plant.
