I'm only taking one year of chem as well. And Spanish instead of French.
I would take French, but the teacher, Ms. Lewis, is the scariest woman alive.

I loved my senior-high French teacher. <3 He was beyond awesome, and if he weren't like 25 years older than me, I'd totally have the hots for him. The French teachers I had before him were gross or stupid or petty...
I'd love to see him again just to tell him how far I've come studying the language since highschool. whee
