My dad's just called. He says I spend too much time on the computer, and that I've been on way too long lately (regardless of the fact that I haven't had time to be on all week because I've been so busy, and only spent two and a half hours online yesterday). I tried reasoning with him, explaining that actually being on a computer is a better activity than watching television, which is acceptable in this house no matter the amount of time, and if it was for physical activity reasons, I'd spend newly-aquired free time either writing, working on my art, or playing video games.

And even though writing and art are probably more beneficial to me than browsing the internet, I can't be forced into doing those things. I need an inspiration, and doing them in all my free time will burn me out. So when I asked why he would cut me down to one hour of computer time total (for my writing on WORD, chatting, and internet browsing), he said, "Because."

THAT ticks me off. When I asked him for a clear incentive so that I might actually comply peacefully, he replied, "I don't need to explain things to you. You're argueing with me now. Get off."

You know what I can do in one hour? =_= Check my various e-mails and respond, then MAYBE have enough time left to scan and upload one comic (those things take a while). Guess you all won't be seeing me around for a while...

awww... that's not fair. I used to have that limit but my parents stopped caring after they realized that my sister, who is 5, played on the computer almost half the day and watched tv the other half. Then they realized that if we still played outside, which we do alot, we could really stay on as long as we want 3nodding
