Celestial Burden Eien, you know, normally I wouldn't care that you were saying this, but I'm fairly sure you had no idea how hard it was for me to stand there and listen to my aunt preach to me, tell me that just because I burned incense and lit candles I was going to hell. Satan already has my soul, there's almost no way for me to turn around. I heard "You're going to hell" about fifty times just not with that wording. I was standing in front of my younger sisters and my mother as well as she was saying all this. My family still thinks I'm Christian by the way, none of them have any idea I don't believe in the Christian God. They know I don't believe in Satan, and they know I don't believe in Hell, and they know I firmly believe in reincarnation, but they think I stilll believe in the same God. So, Eien, the day you hide your religion from your family and everyone else and sit through lectures everyday, hold back the fact that you think it's insane and ridiculous, other things of that sort, you can tell me I'm wrong and that I need these lectures. However, only then. Actually, I do, Celes. I was, not all that long ago, in a similar situation to yours. Not anywhere as bad, but similar in the sense that myself as well as my mother did all those sorts of things. It was centered around the Goddess culture, something quite prevalent around where I am. Some time back around when the Iraq war was beginning, with one of my older cousins having been sent out there, and having taken a trip to my grandmother's house in souther California, my mom and my aunt had a (repressed memory, but probably) screaming match, or something not quite so loud - my aunt professing that we were going to Hell. Hell? I scoffed at the idea then. However, through a close friend of hers, and the Virgin Mary, my mother became Catholic. I, at that time, was still agnostic at best. It wasn't until July this last year that I began my conversion. Also, I am hiding my religion from my family, to my shame. From my father, whom I love dearly, and whom I know is, as I was, agnostic at very best. I'm just now, really, overcoming my fear of expressing my religion in public. It's pagan country around here, let me tell you. Everyone thinks more like you and less like me. Sanzo, that is exactly what I'm saying. Except that I don't want anyone to. And support from an unlikely front. Thank you, Viral. EDIT: Okay, Bass. I'll be done.

....so you are saying that since I don't believe exactly what you do I'll go to hell? Eien never speak to me again about religion or I will ******** tear your head off, you have NO right to tell me where I'm going to end up and its ******** insulting that you are stating that.

Heyta Silver! *glomp*
Eien, really, I didn't want to argue. So, we're never going to agree, lets not mention it again. If I want to talk about it, I'll go to a PM rather than the guild. End of conversation.

Eien: As I said, I *do* have my beliefs. But... they're MY beliefs. It's why I was such a good Boy Scout; at my heart and soul, I really *am* a Boy Scout. I got tired of organized religion, though, when I got fed up with "love one another, UNLESS..." I just try to be the best person I can be, hope I lead by example, and figure everything else will come out in the wash.
Er... Sorry, Bass. Just an aftershock. Nothing to see here. ^_^
