Those Snagems now selected by Sub to join him at the top of Realgam Tower are instead ordered to meet up with Blusix, Wes, and the Kids Grid who have been alerted to an approaching group of Shadow Pokemon coming out of the desert. About twenty in total is all they could see approaching from the desert but the energy sensitive would sense that just this many was not enough to give off such a big pressure. As the Snagems prepared to fight more and more Shadow Pokemon would begin to appear on the horizon, rise up out of the ground, or swoop down from the sky. Rapidly their numbers would increase until a small army of savage mindless creatures rushed towards them.

If anyone tried to return to the tower they would find the impenetrable Protect field had returned, though only around the tower at the center of the fortress. Furthermore their SNAGs could no longer reach the Snagems inside nor could any mental links, even teleportation was out of the question. They were cut off from the others that went up to face Ein. With this knowledge and the approaching army of Shadow Pokemon it was clear; it was a trap. The Snagems heading up would certainly be walking into a trap as well but there was nothing they could do for them.

Facing the approaching horde there was only one thing they could do to help their friends headed to face the mad man behind all this. While defeating this entire horde seemed impossible the least they could do was buy their friends some time. Hopefully it would be enough.

(Desperately take on the Shadow Horde of countless Shadow Pokemon! Any and all kinds of Shadow Pokemon can appear, sans legends and Pokemon with the ability Clear Body, they do no have to be fully evolved either. When making your posts leave them open ended in case someone else would like to pop in and 'assist your characters. Alternatively you may just write up one big post from start to finish if you would like. There is no end goal to this, just post your character(s) desperately fighting to stave off the Shadow Horde and end your post or posts in a vague end which implies that they may have been defeated. Will be giving out extra rewards for this part, as well as a 'Team Work' achievement for people who join in either other members. You do not have to wait for me to post, it's all you.)

[You may catch one Shadow Pokemon, no third stages.]

Wren staggered outside with Lykas supported over one shoulder, the Jellicent hybrid's body somewhat limp as his exhausted friend leaned on him for aid. "Stay close by and be careful." The hybrid told the Grass Channeler as he pulled a Vivid Scent from his bag and stuffed it into the slot on his Snag Machine. The almost mystical field of beautiful, scintillating protection sparkled to life around them as the lovely smells of the Vivid Scent began to do it's job.

Tossing out multiple Pokeballs, the Channeler would release three of his Pokemon. Laurel, his Trevenant appeared, alongside Cassava, his Skiploom, and Caladium, his Fomantis. "Anyone with a Fire-type, take advantage!" He called tot he gathered Snagems.

"Laurel, use Forest's Curse on as many as possible. Use Wood Hammer at the longest range possible afterward!" He'd direct the living tree.

"Cassava, use Stun Spore on an many as you can before Laurel's Forest's Curse takes them and them use Silver Wind on every thing it does affect!"

"Caladium, use Leaf Storm to hit the largest area you can and then use Razor Leaf or Leafage to keep everything possible pushed back as far as you can. If they get too close, push them back with a physical attack." He directed the smallest of the trio.

"I need you three to try and make decisions for yourselves on the best course of action if I can't help. I'm going to try my best to guide you but this is all out war!" He warned the Pokemon.

As the encroaching horde crept ever closer, the man watched his Pokemon leap into action. Cassava jumped into action first, flying out over the horde and scattering a paralytic pollen over the largest area possible. Laurel conjured grasses from the earth beneath the enemies' feet to strike them with a curse of Earth, tacking the Grass-type onto them before Cassava began to blow a powerful silvery, powder-filled whirlwind into the masses.

Caladium took his chance to whip up a powerful Leaf Storm that only grew more powerful as his ability reversed the typical drain the move would cause on his strength. The storm of bladed leaves would whip and whirl, slashing at everything in range and knocking the smaller incoming creatures off their feet. Once Caladium had run out of steam on the move, he switched to hurling Razor Leafs at the further enemies and striking at the nearest ones with Leafage for a more focused hit.

In the meantime, Wren connected to Nutmeg, whose ball was in his bag, and conjured up the springy vines of his Queen's Heels, feeling them growing around his torso and coiling down his legs. Using the floral springs, he would jump forward and kick the closest enemies, using the Queen's Heels to push them back as he jumped off again.

The battle raged on longer and longer until, just as Wren began to attack another opponent, he found something distracting him. A tiny bumping feeling against his leg causing him to look down. Upon looking, he found a small, yellow Pokemon spitting blackened seeds infected with the Shadow Virus at him via Bullet Seed. The seeds weren't very effective, though and the middle-aged businessman could only sigh and give the poor thing a look of pity. "Even with that virus ravaging your tiny body, you're harmless..." He said to it, knowing it wasn't listening and wouldn't hear a word of what he had to say.

“Keep at it, everyone!” He called to his team fighting back against the horde all around them before tossing out Hemlock’s ball. Safely within range of Lykas’s Immunizer, the Cacturne could battle without fear. “Hemlock, use Fell Stinger!” As the battle raged around them, Hemlock leaped forward and threw a punch tipped with Bug energy infused needles. Sunkern countered with a Seed Bomb, which ended up skewered on the Fell Stinger and unable to be shaken free. After a few moments, it exploded in Hemlock’s face. Exhaling a lungful of smoke, Hemlock scowled.

Laurel’s roots drove into the Earth nearby and, reaching out with roots buried deep in the ground, the Trevenant reached up through the ground and began slamming roots into nearby Pokemon via Wood Hammer. Cassava had returned to the safety of the Immunizer field at this point and began to blow a sparkling pink whirlwind into the surrounding hordes with Fairy Wind. Caladium used the chance to lash out with a Dual Chop in one direction and an X-Scissor the other way, driving back a Shadow Dratini and a Forest’s Curse-afflicted Cincinno.

“This needs to end quickly!” Wren called out. His Pokemon were becoming exhausted already, he could tell. And worse, so was he.

“The Immunizer field will only hold out for a few more minutes!” Lykas called out in warning. “If you want to keep your Pokemon safe, you need to get them back in their Balls before the field goes down!” He warned.

“Got it!” Wren replied. “Hemlock, use Sucker Punch!” The Cacturned nodded and coated his arms in Dark energy, waiting for the perfect chance to strike. He wouldn’t find one, however, as Sunkern chose not to strike. Instead, it spewed a ball of Fire energy into the air while guarding itself. “Ok… Let’s try something else… “ Sunkern wouldn’t give him time to think though, forming a ball of Grass energy from which a massive Solar Beam would come flying only a moment later. “Spiky Shield!” Hemlock barely had the time to conjure the glowing green shield before the Solar Beam was crashing into it. “Hold it!” Wren urged as Sunkern’s attack carried on. It didn’t seem to be ending, the faux sunlight from that Sunny Day was fueling it, it seemed. “No choice… Sucker Punch again!” This time, just as the Spiky Shield dropped and Wren ducked the Solar Beam just as it finally came to an end, Hemlock vanished from sight from a brief moment before launching a Dark energy-infused uppercut that launched Sunkern into the sky.

As Wren threw a Nest Ball toward it, he worried that the Pokemon’s final attempt at defending itself would stop the Ball mid-flight. Fortunately, the Shadow Blitz actually ended up driving the Seed Pokemon directly into the Nest Ball’s capture button. About the time it came back to the ground, Wren was recalling his Pokemon as the Immunizer field flickered, fading out of existence just as his last Pokemon was recalled.

“We’re screwed…” Lykas groaned as the horde encroached upon them. Wren caught the falling Nest Ball just as the Shadow Horde launched an all-consuming joint attack meant to cripple their victims. A Haunter launched a Will-o-Wisp, a Hypno shot a Thunder Wave from it’s pendulum, a Shadow Amoonguss spread a cloud of Spore in their direction and, as a final measure a Bronzong unleashed a strange psionic wave of energy via a Heal Block. “Unless…” Though it was a struggle to pull off, he forced himself to pool together the energy necessary and conjured a glittering golden veil around them just before the attacks hit. As the various moves struck the glittering, fluttering veil, they rebounded back into the horde. “Was that?”

“Magic Coat…” Lykas replied before passing out completely. “It bought us a few seconds for this, at least!” Wren replied a** he knelt beside Lykas, summoning the largest thicket of vines he could manage with his Brambleguard to surround them both, watching through the vines consuming them within the heart of the thicket as the Shadow Horde advanced still closer. “I don’t know how long this will hold… “ He told himself as the vines closed in above them now. “But it’s the only chance we have left of surviving this.” He told Lykas’ unconscious body as darkness overcame them both and thumping, crashing and shaking Earth became apparent through their final shield. Hopefully the others could manage something to keep them alive at this point, otherwise Lykas was right. They were really screwed now.

One would think Sol would be speaking alongside Wes, but for the moment? He wasn't sure how many Shadow Pokemon were there; they seemed endless and surely capable of outnumbering them even most of the others coming to join them. There wasn't anything he could say that Wes hadn't already, and there was no point in bringing up trivial things like numbers and odds when it'd be preaching to the choir.

Almost as soon as he saw several others join the fray, with Amaranth among them, he'd notice the barrier that had been stopped earlier was back in full force; no escape for anyone now. With a deep sigh, he'd send out each Pokemon he had, fully aware he'd likely be seeing the whole lot of them infected; any Immunizers could only do so much. First was his Charizard, then Xatu, Gallade, Volcarona, Swampert and Liepard. Finally, he'd brandish his blade, the Firium Z in its hilt giving off a faint glow before racing to Lykas' side to provide cover. "We'll keep up the fight where we can! Just make sure he stays safe!"

His Pokemon would stand at the ready, though how long before Charizard would simply turn against the team was uncertain.. for now, they at least were in the process of taking the fight to the opposing Shadow Pokemon out there.

---

Amaranth would soon follow suit too, sending out each of her own: Togekiss, Pidgeot, Kangaskhan, Fletchinder, Carbink and Woobat. Like with Sol's Charizard, she wasn't sure how long her Togekiss would be willing to listen anymore. "Don't worry about any commands from me!" She shouted as the horde drew ever closer, jumping onto her Pidgeot's back and taking out her artifact. "Just fight and support wherever you can!"

It was a hug that, although a few seconds, felt as if it lasted for an eternity, and probably wouldn't have minded it if it stayed that way. As Rhyme left Tristen, the boy was a little speechless. And albeit envious of Rhyme's seemingly uncanny means to keep moving forward and taking the fights head-on. But more so than that, started to realize a few things regarding his own adoptive parents, specifically about fighting for others and things of the like. The boy started to regain resolve. More than what he had, originally.

Tristen's Weavile returned to him once it was settled that Ulla was going to be okay for the time being and Magmar was still awaiting orders. Tristen faced the horde that was on its way, taking note to Zwei's inquiries. "Hold nothing back, these guys do not go anywhere near ten feet from that door." Tristen said, his crests on his head sparking, ready to go. He had Weavile, Magmar, and a Zebstrika apart from himself to preventing the whole horde from passing. He was going to make it count.

Once the horde got closer, Tristen made the first commands. "Magmar! Smokescreen!" He shouted. The walking inferno unleashed a hard plume of smoke to blanket the field, choking the air out, let alone, blinding the oncoming onslaught upon them. Tristen doubted that this was going to deter the bunch from still moving forward, but any little bit helps considering the overwhelming odds that he was facing. Once the first couple of Pokemon made it out, Tristen pointed forward. "Weavile! Fury Swipes!" Tristen called out. Weavile shot forward, slashing furiously on one of the targets, kicking off of it, then jumping on the other, clawing away furiously to make sure that they weren't going anywhere.

"Magmar! Seismic Toss!" Tristen then commanded. Magmar stomped forward, snatching up one of Weavile's Fury Swipe victims, giving it a spin about, then tossing him back into the black plume of smoke to get lost. If he hit anything, that'd just be a bonus at this point.

"WEA!" His Weavile shouted. Tristen looked back over towards his Weavile and the second attack target of his Fury Swipes, a Seviper, started to coil itself around Weavile and bite down with all its might. Still suffering from the damage from the Rhydon earlier, it was almost to be expected. Tristen though would have to admit despite which he wished Weavile could have lasted a bit longer. "Weavile! Return for now!" he said, recalling the Weavile back to its ball. "Magmar! Get that Seviper!"

"MAG-MAR!" The Magmar rushed over, charging over towards the snake.

"Fire Punch!" he shouted. The Magmar ignited a fist and smashed it right into the snake, bashing it back into the ground. The Seviper however, retaliated, coming back, its tail laced in toxic venom, whipping the Magmar and making the living furnace back off.

"A Poison Tail...Well, no one didn't say they couldn't still use regular attacks. Magmar! Use Flamethrower!"

The Magmar breathed in then unleashed a mighty inferno back towards the Seviper, incinerating the snake and blasting it back. Just as Magmar done so, more Pokemon started to emerge from the smokescreen. A couple of Heracross, it seemed.

"No you don't! Zebstrika!" Tristen then shouted, tossing yet another Pokeball out. With a loud squealing neigh and a crack of lighting emitting from its hooves, Zebstrika was out and ready for battle. "Flame Charge!" Tristen shouted. The Zebstrika galloped full speed ahead, static formed, sparking flames about the zebra Pokemon until it formed a full on fireball which careened towards one of the Heracross and smashed it down to the floor. The second Heracross, however, now registering a threat, rushed for the Zebstrika with its Shadow Rush. However, with Zebstrika's new found speed, the zebra sprinted away, leaving the Heracross in its dust. "Thunderbolt!" The Zebstrika then charged more electricity and a powerful bolt of lightning came down upon the assailing Heracross.

"Magmar!" The boy heard his Magmar yelp out. Tristen turned his attention back towards the Seviper and Magmar brawl where the Seviper, with a Shadow Rush of its own, rams right into Magmar, causing great damage to the walking inferno. Granted, this didn't come without the price of getting burned itself from Magmar's Flame Body, it was minor compared to the task at hand as far as any Shadow Pokemon would be concerned, let alone to this Seviper. "Magmar! Use Flamethrower!" The Magmar stepped back, getting a little distance and unleashed another inferno upon the Seviper, blasting it back and finally bringing the Pokemon out of the fight.

Tristen looked back towards his Zebstrika who is frantically trying to dance about the Heracross, who seemed to be now coordinating their attacks to offset Zebstrika's newfound speed from Flame Charge. "Zebstrika! Discharge!" Tristen shouted. The Zebstrika neighed out and unleashed a powerful electrical blast around itself, shocking the two Heracross and blasting them both back with its thunderous might.

So far so good, the boy thought, until more started to come from the plume. Worse though, he started to notice his teammates. Lykas and Wren. "Magmar! Go help them!" Tristen said. The Magmar hobbled off towards the two and the Pokemon that was making them hunker down and pray for dear life. "Magmar! Confuse Ray!" Tristen shouted. The Magmar's ignition made for a decent flash of light to bedazzle and hopefully confuse something within that mass of chaos surrounding the two.

More started to come out of the Smokescreen and in greater number as the cloud of smoke started to let up. The Zebstrika stomped down, standing its ground, its jagged mane sparking. Tristen went up next to his steed, ready to stand the ground along side of him. "I hope Freth is having better luck than we are..."

------------------

On the other side of the tower, where the likes of the various ghost Pokemon were defeated, Freth found herself in perhaps a worse spot. With only one former Shadow Pokemon to aid her, there wasn't much she could do unless anyone could spare an immunizer her way. She had to be on the assumption, however, no one could pull away. "Absol! Razor Wind!" she shouted. The Absol howled out and formed a massive gale, sweeping a few Pokemon up in its wake, slicing any unfortunate victim within its wake as it gets carried off. "We're only just chipping away at these guys a few at a time at best and only one at worst! We need something that can sweep the field in a hurry! I'm game to ideas if anyone else got any!"

She moves in along side her Absol, blasting a couple of shots of Ice Beam, making a couple of Shadow Pokemon back down, but enticed all the more to make a run for her and Absol. "Crap!" She spread her wings and unleashed a powerful Icy Wind, deterring her newfound assailants for only a couple of seconds. Seconds she needed. "Absol! Use Psycho Cut!" she shouted.

The horn on the Absol's head lit up, and with a flick, a wave of kinetic power slices through the ground to some of the Pokemon and catches it up in its wake. However, a couple of the others didn't get caught up and continued their assault. A couple of Vigoroth started rushing full speed ahead towards Freth and Absol. "Absol! Go! Sucker Punch!" Freth shouted. The Absol dashed towards them and as they rushed in and swung with shadow-virus claws, presumably a Shadow Break attack, the Absol feinted and drove itself right into the back of one of them with its Sucker Punch attack. The other one however, snapped back around quickly and finally hit its mark with its Shadow Break attack. The Absol tumbled on the ground a bit, reeling from the attack.

"Absol! Are you alright!?" The Absol made it back on its feet, but it didn't need to take so many hits like that. The Absol and Freth both knew this. "Absol! Use Double Team!" Afterimages started to form around the two Vigoroth. The two rushed after a couple of images, once again trying to drive a Shadow Break into Absol, only to both come up empty. "Night Slash! Get the one you already landed a blow on!" The images disappeared and once again, the Absol slashes deep into the Vigoroth, causing immense damage, rather it was super lucky or just how Night Slash normally is, was more than enough to even make a Shadow Pokemon writhe in pain. The second Vigoroth then rushed after the Absol, swiping hard with its claws. Not another Shadow Break, it seemed to be a Slash attack this go round. The Absol gets blindsided by the attack, but the Absol stands its ground.

The Vigoroth startes to move in rather quickly, trying to make a subsequent attack, this time looking like yet another Shadow Break attack. "Absol! That thing is using too many Shadow Attacks, he's bound to go hyper mode! Use Me First!" Freth shouted. The Absol quickly dodges out of the way of the swipe and then smashes itself into the Vigoroth, causing great damage to the otherwise hyper normal type, but as soon as it started to stand up, Freth made her way forward and double-tapped the Vigoroth with her Ice Beam as it was down with great impunity to keep the Pokemon down.

Freth and Absol wouldn't get a break however as more started to come their way. "...those guys up there better hurry the hell up..."

Wren could hear a voice outside his thicket calling to him. Back up had arrived! He didn't like relying on unpredictable Pokemon but the only ones he had left that he felt were safe to battle with were already Shadowfied.

"I can't do anything on my own but... Maybe my Pokemon can battle without me..." Lykas groaned as he pulled three Pokeballs from his waist and dropped the first one. "Open this thing up." He told Wren as Fog appeared from his ball. The Dewgong was seldom seen but Lykas had expected Ein to pull something like this.

Wren nodded silently and slowly dropped the Brambleguard protecting them. Upon seeing Sol battling for all he was worth with his Pokemon, Lykas smirked. “Welcome back, Turkey.” He told the other hybrid. “Perish Song, Fog. As loud as possible. I want everything on this island to hear it if you can.” The Dewgong nodded and began to sing, his voice growing ever louder but it was guaranteed it wouldn’t reach far over the din of battle surrounding them. The moment the song was done, Lykas would recall the Ice-type before it had the chance to become infected.

“Kamoana, Fissure!” He exclaimed as he the second ball as high into the air as possible in the middle of the horde. As the ball cracked open and the Pokemon within burst forth, the light grew ever larger until his Wailord was fully materialized and crashed down into the Earth below. The collision ruptured the very foundation of the island beneath her and opened colossal fissures in all directions to swallow up a large part of the horde. “This is all I can do…” He told Wren as he gasped, trying not to keel over as he recalled Kamoana again, using the length of a single attack as his only hope for protecting his team from infection at the moment.

Dropping the final ball he’d pulled free, he would release his final move. “Cordelia, use Rock Tomb!” The Relicanth took in the chaos all around her before her eyes flashed and wall of massive stones erupted from the ground between her and the tower behind her, leaving only a narrow opening through which the Shadow Pokemon ahead of them would either have to force their way through in single file or they would have to go around it. Lykas recalled his partner after her attack came to an end and promptly collapsed.

“S-Sol, right?” Wren called out to the Ho-oh hybrid. “Can you use a Fire-type move if I can give you fuel for it?” He asked, considering his team for the moment. “Laurel, use Forest’s Curse again.” He directed his Trevenant as he released the Ghost from it’s Nest Ball. Laurel appeared once more and began to sprout plants from the ground all around him, as far as his will could reach and began to afflict everything that wasn’t an ally that he could manage with the Grass-type.

~~~
Odd could only watch, at first, as Freth fought against the horde coming at them from all sides. He hated this. He was still exhausted and his energy hadn’t yet recovered from taking down that giant Cofagrigus. He didn’t have a choice, though. “Dissonance, use Shadow Punch!” He’d direct the Golurk as it appeared. Dissonance nodded and threw fists of Ghost energy at anything that moved outside the nearest group, whom he recognized as friends and allies. Fortunately, he had been purified ages ago and was safe from the horde surrounding them.
He struck down an incoming Haunter, followed by a pair of Amoongus, knocking them all back but not truly slowing their advance. The Haunter retaliated with a Shadow Rave, sending sharp spikes of Shadow infected energy racing toward Dissonance. Odd's Automaton Pokemon crossed it's massive arms and tanked the hit with a groan of mechanisms fighting back. "Stick them to the ground! Gravity!" Odd ordered, grunting slightly as the pain from the hole in his torso reminded him of it's presence. Dissonance nodded to Odd as it's hands began to glow with cosmic energy. Laying those large hands along the horizon and pressing downward, the mechanized Ghost-type began to increase the force of gravity surrounding him. Making special exclusions for the Snagems.
As Dissonance attacked, the surrounding Shadow Pokemon began to be crushed against the earth beneath them. It still wouldn't stop them but it was something for the moment, at least. Releasing Baroque once again, he’d point to Beau. “Keep him safe. Lock him inside your body if you have to and maintain Protect as long as you can.” He ordered the Coffin Pokemon. Baroque’s response was to gingerly lift the scorched butterfly hybrid with his shadowy arms and form a spherical Protect around them both.
Dropping a Dusk Ball and a Pokeball, he released Celesta and Glissando, repectively. “Glissando, use Hypnosis on everything you possible can. Celesta, use Mimic and copy him. After everything you can affect is out, Celesta, I want you to use Nightmare on a large scale.” He told his partners.
“Dissonance, use Stomping Tantrum on anything that makes it past the Hypnosis. Flatten them, completely if that’s what it takes to stop them!” He directed the remaining Pokemon he had out. He needed a little longer to heal before he was going to be up to doing anything. He had two Z-Crystals on him that he could use but only one of them was going to produce a move that could really protect them for long. He had to recover enough to use it!
Those last word Ulla said to Leon rang in his head as he was walking towards the horde. He stuffed his hands in his pockets as a grin appeared on his face. "How I've waited to let loose." He said as he took out several Pokeballs as he tossed them right in front of him. His trusted Poison Pokemon were first to appear: Roserade, Golbat, and his most recent edition Ivysaur. Then his mighty lion Pyroar appeared right behind them as he roared a mighty roar. "I'm not Master in Channeling yet. But, we will make do of what we can do." Leon watched the other Snagems fight to the side as he ordered his Pokemon to charge forward a bit a ways away from the group, passing the smoke screen slightly.
All of them nodded as Leon got on Pyroar as they charged towards them. They then came to a sudden halt as Leon hopped off his Pyroar as he focused his channeling abilities with Roserade. He felt his blood boil inside him as he felt the Hybrid he killed in the Fairy Realm's presence wanting some destruction. "Don't worry, I'll quench your thirst." He said as he opened his mouth as an obnoxious, poisonous gas was let out as it started to spread forward. "Pyroar let them have it! Flamethrower." He said as the lion let out a stream of flames from its mouth. With the mixture of gas and fire created an even larger flamethrower which could be mistaken for an explosion.
Leon closed his mouth as he noticed some of the Shadow Pokemon were either burned, or poisoned. Even though that attack was huge, it didn't stop them. "Golbat Venoshock! Roserade Magical Leaf! Ivysaur Sludge! Do not move any further from this position." He said as Golbat flew higher in the air as he started glowing as he started flapping his wings as splashes of poison came off as it made the poison on the Shadow Pokemon worse. Roserade use Magical Leaf as she was dancing around very rigorously as leaves started swirling around her. She then directed it to go towards the Shadow Pokemon. Ivysaur planted his feet more firmer into the ground as several large orbs were being launched out from his plant on it's back.
Everything seemed to be going well as Leon pulled out his Artifact as a Shadow Poliwhirl was coming forward. It let out a Shadow Wave which hit Ivysaur as he was pushed back from his position. Leon quickly ran towards the Poliwhirl with his black kunai in hand. He breathed in as he slashed in an x motion as the Poliwhirl quickly fell to the ground. "My sister would have tried to save all of you...tried to purify you. But, I'm not my sister." He said as he noticed the horde moving ever so closer as more started to emerge so suddenly. "Guys fall back, lets regroup with the ot-" Before he could finish his sentence, he felt something really hard hit him right in the face as he was launched backward. He hit the ground as his head was spinning. All his Pokemon cried out as they ran towards their Trainer to check if he was okay. He looked to see what hit him as it was a Shadow Weezing. It looked pretty angry as it showed some burn marks.
The Weezing then charged at Leon again as it was preforming Shadow Blitz. "Ivysaur stop it with Vine Whip!" Ivysaur stood infront as vines came out of his plant as it grabbed onto Weezing. The Weezing kept pushing forward but in a sheer of might, Ivysaur quickly slammed it down to the ground leaving a crater where it landed. "Nice job now lets head back to others hurry!" He said as he got on Pyroar as his other Pokemon went on ahead first as the Weezing got out of the ground and let out a Shadow Mist from it's pours. The Pyroar started to run back as he saw the mist coming close. Leon's head was spinning from that attack still as he held his head with one hand. He then felt the ground shaking slightly as some Sandshrew cut them off from Leon's poison type Pokemon using Dig to catch up to them. "Shoot...you guys better hurry up..."
Requiem of Whyspers
"Good to be back," Sol answered with a quick nod, looking to his Pokemon as the command for Perish Song was given. "All of you, cover your ears! We can't afford for any of you to fall this early!" He'd follow suit himself just in case, and most of his would do the same... aside from his Charizard, who decided to try and set several of the opposing Pokemon ablaze with Shadow Fire. He already knew another attack like that would easily throw him into a frenzy, but perhaps the Perish Song would make for a blessing in disguise. Once it was over, he'd hear Wren's request. "I can manage the fuel myself, but whatever you have-"
He wouldn't have to wait long to see a ghostly forest begin to spread around them, knowing exactly what was in mind. "I can work with that. Excuse me," he remarked in turn, starting to channel a Flamethrower through his blade and engulfing it before moving to run it through as much of the makeshift woods and plants as he could. The rest of his Pokemon, so far, were continuing to provide cover where they could.
In an instant, Amaranth would have Gale fly over as the two gathered and channeled their energy into her artifact, making a wind wall to try and act as a buffer against the shadow Pokemon's attacks. "I'll cover you! Gale, Air Slash on that Weezing!" The earlier wall seemed to still have no issues with attacks coming from behind it, the sharp winds able to pass through and try to strike the Weezing.
Zwei didn't know what he was doing, to be perfectly honest.
Only in the past few weeks has he really been supporting the team proper, under Rhyme's amazing (to him) tutelage.
And now he's out here with Tristen, staring down the enemy, staring down the shadow Pokemon that have been terrorizing everyone here. He's slightly winded but he's grinning ear to ear as if that didn't matter, as if this once more was truly all a --slightly scary-- game they were to play. "Lets go!"
Stupidly, perhaps, he goes alone, bounding through and weaving his way into the mess, causing all sorts of collisions between Shadow pokemon as they try to take him down...but only attack the others around them, and it causes a moment of chaos further as their attention turns to their peers, not him.
Fine and dandy until he gets hit with a good Focus Punch to the back and sent careening like a bowling ball, barreling into other shadow pokemon--smaller, weaker ones-- and crashing to the earth, rolling a few until he's stopped by the leg of a Houndoom, who snarls and stands over him, attempting to snap at his face or arms or anything.
"Not cool, mate!! I'm not a snack!!" Zwei howls, attempting to either shut the dogs snout or push him off, and neither ones really working, especially as the rest of that Houndoom pack falls in....
Freth's barely audible prayer for aid would be quickly answered as a barbarian yawp erupted from the tower entrance near her and was quickly followed by a four foot tall Mawile hybrid charging out onto the battlefield with a Bulbasaur attached to her back and a Doublade clutched in her hands. Flying past Freth with a vine that attached itself to one of the Shadow Pokemon, Leslie would catapult herself into a flying tackle that slammed into an Aggron and sent the giant Steel type stumbling backwards through its allies, allowing Leslie enough room to send ehr Doublade whistling through the air around her in a pair of Aerial Aces that slashed through a few of the Pidgeot and Fletchinders that she drew close to as she bounced back from her flying tackle.
"Hi, Freth! Care for a little backup? Well, too bad cause it would only be little if it was just me. GRAY!" Leslie shouted, a toothy grin plastered on both of her mouths as she stared at the slowly recovering Aggron and its newly found allies of a Haxorus and a Garchomnp. From behind Freth, she would hear a series of beeps and whirs as a step of heavy, thumping footsteps echoed throughout the battlefield. The temperature would drop precipitously at the same time this was happening, the metal on the walls visibly frosting as liquid condensed into ice on its surface. As the sounds drew close enough for their source to be recognizable, a massive torrent of cold air and snow would rip through the environment and carve a path through the Shadow Pokemon as it began to cause eruptions of giant ice pillars and savaged the Pokemon that it hit. Turning to look over her shoulder as the Blizzard attack died off, Leslie would nod to her biggest gun and the effect that it had just unleashed on the environment. Looking to her Regice and the small camera that was mounted to it via a headband, the small girl would nod towards her benefactor. "Now then, since we're both here, I think its time we really start going to town." Leslie added, already firing a Vine Whip towards the tip of one of the ice formations and swinging into the fray.
While she was swinging from peak to peak and slashing her way through the Shadow Pokemon she could reach, Leslie could feel things already shifting back towards them being on the back foot. While the shock and awe of a Legendary Pokemon unleashing absolute hell had given them a slight reprieve, this was slowly wearing off as Regice no longer had the time to build up for as large of a blast and instead was having to fire off multiple Ice Beams in order to keep the remaining Vigoroth at bay from assaulting Freth's side. So, Leslie decided that she would need to add something more to the assault. "Freth! I'm going to gather them up! Do something big!" Leslie shouted towards the other hybrid, swinging around the Shadow Pokemon. Grappling onto one of them, Leslie would fall from the air and land on the ground, the single vine still connected to her chosen Shadow Pokemon. Using her other arm to aim, Leslie would begin throwing herself across the field in an effort to gather all the Shadow Pokemon she could together in her little corral. And while she made the first few Vine Zips unscathed, the small cuts would begin to build up as the Pokemon got used to the timing and speed that she could reach. And while she managed to almost entirely encircle a large mass of Shadow Pokemon, this would be when one of the Shadow Pokemon managed to get the timing down pat. The Aggron from earlier would spike Leslie into the earth with a well-timed Iron Tail, sending the Mawile hybrid slamming into the ground and trapping her within the ground that she just displaced on impact.
"FRETH! Do it now!" Leslie yelled, struggling to get an angle to try and fight off the Aggron as she desperately tried to keep Willow awake and able to keep the vine that was entrapping all of the gathered Shadow Pokemon together.
----
Reno would stroll out alongside the rest of the group, doing his best to keep everything as well coordinated as he could. He had all of his Pokemon out, but he was going to be the one fighting it out int he field here. Best to let them only focus on giving him strength while he ventured out and did the hardest work he could. Unfortunately, he was forced to keep covering the entrance with a borrowed Thunderbolt that he sent streaking through a few of the flying Shadow Pokemon, keeping them suppressed for the moment from any attempted aerial raids. So it took him a moment to realize that one of the Snagems had gotten above their pay grade as he saw the pack of Houndoom that were currently surrounding Zwei and preparing to savage the smaller hybrid. Building up some power, the Psychic would soon be teleported into the fray alongside Zwei, delivering a swift kick to the jaw of the one attempting to bite into Zwei before a flurry of slime-coated fists lashed out towards the other Houndooms.
"Alright, kid. Get back to work! I got this one!" Reno told Zwei, pushing back the pack of Houndoom with a pop from his psionically-charged palms before grabbing and throwing the hybrid in a similar ballistic flight through the Shadow Pokemon that had landed him in the midst of the Fire types. While not ideal, it would let the little guy continue doing what he did best and hopefully keep him away from any other major fist fights. Speaking of....Reno turned back to the Houndoom as they began to slowly encircle him, each letting out little gouts of flames in an effort to intimidate Reno into a hasty action they could capitalize on. But he simply stood still, brain rapidly firing as he let his Metagross handle calculating his best route through these jokers. Throwing out a quick jab with his left hand at one of the Houndoom, Reno would suddenly collapse as another leaped past and tackled that same Houndoom with a Crunch attack. A flurry of flame attacks would erupt around Reno, each being dodged by inches and instead being used to blast another one of the Houndoom away.
In the midst of his effort to keep this pack distracted, Reno wasn't attentive to any possibility outside of those specific foes, resulting in him being blindsided by what felt like an absolute car crash of a fist that sent him skipping across the ground and sent the Houndoom scattering in fear. Slowly fading back to his normal senses even as his more advanced calculating ability collapsed, he was quick to identify what the hell had hit him. A Hitmonchan had sent a hellacious right cross of a Shadow Break straight into his skull, a move that might've decapitated him without the slime armor his Reuniclus granted him. Even then, he could still feel his regeneration working double time to fix the incredible damage the blow had dealt. Slowly rising to his feet as he stared down the Hitmonchan, Reno felt a smirk cross his face. This Fighting type wanted to do a big fight with him? Well, he was happy to oblige, especially since all the blows that either side whiffed would absolutely wreck the Shadow Pokemon around them. Putting his hand sup close to his face, Reno prepared to see what the hell he could do for fist fighting after all of his training.
With the ones in the bramble squared away now by the likes of Sol, Tristen still had problems of his own. “Zebstrika! Discharge!” He commanded. The Zebstrika rushes in, with a mighty wail which and unleashes a massive electrical onslaught, electrocuting various Shadow Pokemon and making them back off. At least for the time being. “Magmar! Get back over here! We need another Smokescreen!” Tristen the shouted to his Magmar. The Magmar rushed as fast as it could back over, but it was still going to take a few seconds. The Shadow Pokemon in the meantime was already retaliating at the zebra Pokemon. Still limber and active from the Flame Charge from earlier, the Zebstrika danced about, avoiding a few projectiles, until it was finally blindsided by a Ponyta, ramming into the Zebra with a Shadow Rush of its own. The Zebstrika squealed out, and to make this day all the worse, the Pokemon the Zebstrika manage to repulse for a few seconds started to make the run on back.
“Zebstrika! Another Discharge!” Tristen commanded. The Zebstrika leaped back and unleashed yet another electrical blast, shocking the various Shadow Pokemon and making them once again back down. At least…he thought. “ELEEECTAAA!” There was a Shadow Pokemon that took the attack like it was nothing. A Electabuzz, now sparking, relatively unphased by the electrical attack. Sure, it took damage, but it was relatable to a superficial papercut which could cause ‘damage’.
“MAGMAR!” The Magmar finally arrived and blew a plume of smoke to blanket the field. The Electabuzz dashed forward, however, getting out the smoke, heading straight for Magmar, a fist crackling with electricity and smashed it right into the Magmar.
“A Thunderpunch. Magmar, no! Zebstrika! Go!” Tristen shouted. The Zebstrika galloped hard and fast right after the Electabuzz before the Electabuzz could land a coup de grace on the Magmar. “Zebstrika! Stomp!” Tristen shouted. The Zebstrika leaped up and stomped down upon on the Electabuzz. However, the Electabuzz managed to avoid it, leaping back a hop or two, then rushed in, with a Shadow Break attack, smashing itself right into the Zebstrika. The Zebstrika wailed out in pain as the unnatural Pokemon attack drove it back with such force.
“Magmar! Get out of there!” Tristen commanded. “Zebstrika! Use Thrash!” The Magmar scrambled out of the way as the Zebstrika retaliated, bucking and stomping, striking with ferocious force upon the Shadow Electabuzz with a mighty back kick, sending it head over heels and landing rather harshly on the ground. Tristen knew the effects of Thrash, but considering the odds he was needing to do all he could before he lost Zebstrika as well, especially to this Shadow Electabuzz of all things. The Zebstrika went down to stomp and thrash on his knocked over foe. The Electabuzz kicked upwards to roll backwards and get back upright on his feet, then rushed for the rampaging Zebstrika once again. The Electabuzz once again rushed in with a Shadow Break in the midst of Zebstrika’s thrashing. Blows started to clash, one right after another until finally the Shadow Electabuzz managed to exploit an opening and knock down the Zebstrika. Worse still, it seemed to be a rather crushing blow. Zebstrika didn’t seem to have its bearings, perhaps to the confusion that was now starting to overcome it through its fatigue, and it couldn’t seem to get standing back up.
Tristen quickly whipped out the Zebstrika’s Pokeball. “Zebstrika! Return now!” Tristen shouted, recalling the Zebstrika back into its Pokeball before the Electabuzz finished the electric zebra off. “Magmar!” He called out to his walking inferno. The Magmar got back infront of Tristen, ready to still battle. Though it was pretty winded at this point. “Magmar! Flamethrower!” Tristen shouted. The Magmar breathed in and unleashed a powerful plume of fire towards the Electabuzz. The Shadow Electabuzz was engulfed by the powerful inferno and stuck it was in it for the better part of a couple of seconds. Once the attack finally was done with its sweep, Tristen finally saw the first signs of weakness out of the Electabuzz.
The Shadow Electabuzz fell to one knee, severely burned by the likes of Magmar. He had to end the fight there and then, Tristen thought. Tristen pulled out a Great Ball and primed it. The boy gave it a hard toss and the ball ensnared the Shadow Electabuzz. The ball shook on the ground for the better part of a few seconds, seconds which felt like an eternity within this mass battle, or more aptly described, the last stand between Ein and the Snagems, both up at the top of the tower and down holding the line. Before he knew it, a click finally showed closure, the Shadow Electabuzz submitted to the Great Ball. And with that a sigh of relief…
“MAACHOP!” A Shadow Pokemon’s cry rang out, and before he knew it, he had a virus-ridden fighting type on his back. Tristen flailed about in a panic then made his body spark with electricity furiously, making the Machop let go. Tristen turned around, grabbing the Machop instead and electrocuted it further, then tossed it aside.
“MAGMAR!” His Magmar yelped as another Pokemon rammed into him, leaving the Magmar retaliate and punch it furiously with a fist engulfed in flames, driving it into the ground then once more for good measure. Tristen quickly followed up and dropped a bolt of lightning with his Thunderbolt just for added coverage then rushed over towards his Magmar. Tristen looked down at the Pokemon, looked to be a Clefairy for a moment, but then looked back at the oncoming onslaught. Once again, the smokescreen to deter the Pokemon started to dissipate with the battle and the rush. He looked back over to his Magmar who was even more worse for wear now, then back towards the oncoming onslaught. “Where does this stop?” Tristen asked.
----------
Freth unleashed an Icy Wind at the onslaught that was before her, trying all she could to deter the Shadow Pokemon that was on their way to overrun them. The Absol followed up targeting one single target after the next, a Slash attack on one, a Night Slash on another, the occasional dodge with either Double Team or Detect. “Absol! Future Sight!” Freth called out. The Absol’s horn glowed, it closed its eyes, forcasting a disaster that was about to get wrought upon these Pokemon.
Freth then looked back, seeing Leslie coming forth with legendary grade backup. Leslie had a plan, it seemed. Something that Freth needed to help with. “Alright, gotcha!” Freth said. Unfortunately, despite wanting to go along with the plan like she wanted to, she had other problems. Not by the Vigoroth, but more Pokemon incoming. “Absol! Help Leslie out! Try to get more caught up in Leslie’s attack!” Absol then rushed in, swiping and slashing with Night Slash, to get Pokemon caught up in Leslie’s game plan. Freth rushed in as well, blasting a couple of Pokemon with Ice Beam as well to corral them in. Absol then took notice to a Pokemon trying to attack Freth and rushed in, ramming into it and pelting it with a Sucker Punch attack. Unfortunately, this Pokemon…didn’t budge too much. Absol looked at the Pokemon for only briefly a second until the Absol was slashed with a Dragon Claw.
Freth perked up, looking back behind her, going wide-eyed. A dragon of all things. And a weird one at that. She recognized this as an Alola native…a Hakamo-o. Absol managed to stagger back up but it wasn’t feeling all that great. Freth took the initative, blasting the dragon with her own ice beams, single handedly, rapid-fire like. The dragon raised its arms up, guarding, taking the attacks and started getting caked in ice. The Pokemon then roared out, throwing its arms out, breaking the ice off its armor-like scales then rushed for Freth, its body started getting wreathed in a Shadowy Aura and rammed into Freth with a Shadow Rush. “AUGH!” she shouted. She hit the ground hard, in intense pain from the attack, but before she could work to get back up, she got pounced on by the Hakamo-o. The dragon started to claw away at Freth, Freth struggling back, managing to grab the fighting dragon by the neck. “ABSOL!” She shouted.
“SOL!” The Absol called out in acknowledgement.
“PSYCHO CUT!”
“ABSOL!”
“JUST DO IT!” She shouted.
The Absol’s horn lit up and with a flick unleashed a mighty psychic wave which started to cut a groove in the ground as it rushed for both the shadow Pokemon and Freth. Freth then bucked, gave a small blast of Ice Beam, and kicked the dragon off just in time to get blasted by the Psycho Cut. The dragon then looked back towards Absol for a moment, then started to make the mad shadowy dash for the Absol. Absol wasn’t going to be able to dodge it that well, let alone weather it. Freth quickly pulled out a Great Ball and gave it a hard toss, ensnaring the Hakamo-o into the ball. “Stay there for a second…” She said. She perked up, seeing Leslie with a whole mess of shadow Pokemon, and calling for Freth’s aid now. She wasn’t ready at all for it no thanks to the Hakamo-o…until a realization.
“Wait a second…that Future Sight never went off…” she said to her Absol. Before she and probably Leslie knew it, the Future Sight comes crashing down from the heavens. A divine bolt of retribution crashing down on the whole swath of Pokemon Leslie managed to ensnare in her attack. Freth then looked over towards her Absol. “You’re a cheeky one, aren’t you?” Freth said.
“Absol…” It replied. Before the two then knew it, the Great Ball they left to merely hamper the Hakamo-o for the moment clicked. Freth could only stare in confusion for a moment, until the thud from Absol’s body collapsing on the ground after so much intense battling caught up to it drove it back to her dark type. “…crap.”
The headache Crystal was suffering only grew as she joined the others, holding her head eventually and leaning on Demon Wing for support. Her head was feeling like it was about to split when her sight was replaced with something more… distant? It seemed it to her. A brightly lit area, at least, with this shadowy aura surrounding it and closing in fast, dimming the light. Something seemed to be making itself seen, though, within that light, flying closer and closer…
Almost on instinct, Crystal would wave away the Lilipup hybrid in a different direction quite forcefully before even registering who he was, her sight just now starting to return to the real world. “What in blazes?... Demon Wing, he have got to fight like nothing else. That was… not a good omen,” she panted, digging things out of her bag. Specifically, the Immunizer and a Vivid Scent. Plugging the scent into the device, she got onto the Charizard’s back and nudged him forward. “Let’s go!”
The two took to the skies, the black dragon spouting gouts of flames at the various fliers that came to attack, and Crystal flinging others away almost carelessly, with that throb going on in her head still, though currently lessened. Eyeing Leslie’s fight with an Aggron, though, she’d aim Demon Wing down towards it, who smirked and started to surround himself with flame. The hybrid would jump off when the flames were getting too close, clearing herself a spot to land gracefully as Demon Wing flew in with a Flare Blitz, slamming his body into the Aggron’s rather recklessly. “Need some help there,” Crystal asked as she worked on pulling Leslie out of the ground. “You’re heavier than I thought…”
"Tristen." A familiar digital voice spoke up from the device on the young hybrid's person. "Calm yourself for a moment, do you feel that? Initially my sensors couldn't detect it due to the sheer amount of energy signatures but I'm certain of it now; the Zapdos Heart survived the destruction of the S.S. Anne II. In fact it is directly ahead of, unfortunately among the horde. You saw the kind of power Rhyme could harness with it, perhaps if you could reach it you may be able to take a large majority of these creatures out in one massive discharge of electricity." GRAY informed Tristen.
It wasn't a terrible idea, while the young hybrid probably couldn't manipulate that much energy, as even the more seasoned Rhyme had extreme trouble with it, it would perhaps be enough to just unleash the energy stored in the giant Thunder Stone and take out as many of the surrounding Shadow Pokemon as possible with the wild surge of electricity. All he had to do was tap into it and let it loose.
The problem though was as GRAY pointed out, and Tristen would further confirm it upon reaching out to sense the Zapdos Heart; it was deep behind 'enemy territory'. He would have to fight his way towards it just for the hope that when he got to it that he could unleash its raw power. That said GRAY was already working on that part as he pinged the SNAGs of nearby Snagems with a new 'mission': Get Tristen to the Zapdos Heart.
Tristen couldn't sense it in the literal meaning like GRAY was implying. He wasn't like his adoptive parents. Sure he had a canine's hearing and smelling, but then, he started to realize something that he hadn't quite realized before. It was a pull, for a lack of a better term. Perhaps it was his Lightning Rod ability trying to reach out and take in this power. He wasn't sure. But that would involve plowing through his oncoming horde. His Magmar was on his last legs in this fight and Weavile and Zebstrika was done. The boy was really going to need some help...
-------
Freth though would get the ping from the otherside of the tower. Tristen was called upon to play hero. She didn't agree with it, but then, it was all they have, she'd have to admit. This fight didn't seem to be ending any time soon at the rate they're going, and if it was going to go on any longer like this, they'd be the ones on the losing for certain. "Leslie! Crystal! You got that message!? We got to go! Let's see if we can't take these guys with us!" Freth shouted, making a few potshots with Ice Beam then taking flight after Tristen.
"Looks like I missed a bit," I say to the small crowd of Snagems huddled against the horde before them. Almost immediately, I load the Vivid Scent into my Immunizer and call out a variety of Pokemon: Rala, Angeal, Sauron, Haku, Reese, and Yuki. "Rala, I want you to keep an eye on the other Snagems. If anybody gets in danger, I want you to Protect them. This goes for Pokemon outside of our Immunizer ranges - try to minimize infection as best you can."
Rala nods and then teleports away, upon which I focus on the others. "Alright, the rest of you stay put. You won't get infected if you stay close to me. I know you don't like not fighting at close range, Haku, but trust me, this is for your safety. Angeal, use Sunny Day, then start firing Flamethrowers, but keep an eye on the Sunny Day and refresh it whenever you need to. Sauron, as soon as the Sunny Day is up, start spamming Solarbeam. Haku and Reese, rain Draco Meteor upon the horde, and Yuki, keep an Electric Terrain up and pelt the enemy with Thunderbolt.
"I'm just gonna stay within your immunizer range if that's okay," Absinthe speaks up, though I already knew she was there. She then let Angela and Broly out of their balls. "Okay. Broly, This guy's Blaziken is keeping a Sunny Day up, so you keep firing Solarbeams at those Shadow Pokemon over there. Angela- what are you-?"
When Absinthe mentioned Angeal, Angela looked at him intensely, seeming to recognize the Blaziken, but she didn't seem completely sure of what she was seeing. "Angela! We have a fight to focus on!" Abby half-shouted, which caught the Combusken's attention. "Use as much Flamethrower as you can to keep the horde at a distance, okay? Put all your strength into it."
After Lykas had done what he could,he practically passed out beside Wren once again. The hybrid wasn’t going to be much use here for a while. Wren punched the ground as he watched the others putting up a better fight than him at this point, left to babysit the sleeping Water Master. As he watched the goings on around them, he failed to notice a tiny little plant springing from the ground nearby. Once he did, finally, notice it, his face lit up. “Granny Bloom?! I need your help!” He implored the tiny plant, expecting to find a snapdragon as he spoke to it. Much to his dismay, however, it wasn’t a flower he wanted to see when the bud opened. It was a flytrap. A very hungry flytrap.
“Carnivine!” It cried out as it launched itself from the soil, using Growth to rapidly grow itself to full size and latching onto Lykas. It saw him as the easiest prey. Landing on the hybrid before Wren could react, the Shadow Carnivine used Ingrain to sink it’s vines into the hybrid’s watery flesh before turning to Wren and stretching it’s head across to slam into him with a Shadow Rush.
Knocked off his feet and landing square on his rear, Wren gasped before he tried to get up again. Each time he appeared to be regaining his footing, however, Carnivine would strike him with a Vine Whip, knocking him back again and again. “No!” He screamed as Lykas’ body began to show signs of the plant’s feeding, withering slightly.
Tossing out a Nest Ball, he released the only option he had at such close range and with no more protection from the virus. “Altissima! Please listen to me and protect him!” He begged the Lilligant, watching as she glared at him. She’d been a bit on the cold side since her evolution, not showing as much affection as she once had but this was completely different. She had a true and genuine lust for carnage in those eyes. “Please?!” He begged, tears forming in his eyes. “Use your Quiver Dance!” Altissima hung her head and shook it slowly. The human was pathetic. But, somewhere, deep down inside of her, she couldn’t tell him no. So she danced. Her body twisted and turned, quivering in strange ways as she flexed and loosened her muscles.
“Vine!” Carnivine cried out as it opened its mouth wide, charging up a large Energy Ball inside. Snapping it’s maw shut, it shot the orb of solar energy at Altissima with incredible speed. The Flowering Pokemon’s speed was greater, however, and she easily dodged the bullet while dancing a beautiful, twirling dance and sending petals flying in a raging storm toward the Carnivine.
“Be careful!” Wren exclaimed, hand shooting forward in an effort to shield Lykas. A Brambleguard grew around the hybrid quickly, protecting him from the brunt of Altissima’s
Petal Dance. Carnivine took the attack like a champ and snapped back with a Feint Attack. Altissima couldn’t totally evade with the speed Carnivine stretched toward her but when she was hit, she used it to boost her dancing speed and spun around, a few more intricate steps and another flurry of flower petals thrown toward Carnivine.
The stretchy Bug Catcher Pokemon snapped at her with a Crunch, hoping to feed on her now as well. Altissima wasn’t having it, though and as she spun to a stop, she sent a wild pulse of shadowy spikes shooting out from her leaf arms with a sudden Shadow Rave(4/10), stabbing directly into the Carnivine’s open maw. The flytrap wasn’t done yet, though. Recoiling from the stabbing shadow needles, it “roared”, unleashing a wild Shadow Panic at Altissima. The Lilligant just looked at the Carnivine for a moment, confused for the briefest of moments at what in the hell it thought it was doing before she returned the Shadow Move with another of her own, using Shadow Break(8/10) to slam, full-bodied, into the flytrap’s face.
The infected pair glared at one another for a moment before Wren was forced to recall Altissima. The longer they glared, the more he could feel a sense of dread building inside of him. He was about to completely lose control of his Pokemon and he couldn’t do that.
“I’m sorry!” He exclaimed as he tried to remove Carnivine once more, summoning thick, spring-like vines across his legs and attempting to kick the creature hard enough to remove its roots from Lykas’ body. In doing so, he removed the Brambleguard so that it wouldn’t hold Carnivine in place. He just couldn’t hit the flytrap, though, no matter how hard he tried. It was too flexible. It was, however, breathing heavily. Just a little more damage would knock it out but he couldn’t provide that without infecting yet another of his team. “Someone help him!” He begged his allies. Lykas was starting to look a bit like a prune. Someone should definitely help save him before Carnivine sucked him dry of all water and life energy alike.
Odd heard the call for help getting Tristen to the Zapdos Heart and, as he was finally beginning to heal enough to move effectively, he recalled his battlers and indicated for Baroque to follow him, maintaining a Protect as long as possible with Beau contained inside, his Mummy ability working more to bandage the butterfly’s wounds than to restrain him.
Upon reaching the battlefield where the rest of the Snagems had gathered, he noticed Terashi had activated an Immunizer and tucked himself just inside it’s range. “Dissonance, use Gravity on us! Keep all of us in place!” He ordered his Golurk as he released the large Automaton Pokemon. Hands aglow with cosmic energy, Dissonance obeyed and began to weigh down the Snagems as Odd released Celesta, then snapped a black crystal Sub had handed him into the Sparkling Stone attached to his Snag Machine. “We’re using a Z-Move, Celesta. Time to make a difference, even if it costs us everything!” He’d learned the moves needed to use Z-Power ever since obtaining the stone, despite not having a crystal to use with it at the time so he knew just what to do. Moving swiftly but smoothly through the motions, he shouted at the top of his voice, “Black Hole Eclipse!”.
Celesta nodded and her shadowy arms shot out from beneath her cloak, forging a pulsating orb of darkness with Dark Pulse before the Z-Power began to pour into it, pumping up it’s size, larger and larger until it began to swallow up everything around it, save for those Snagem caught up in Dissonance’s Gravity. It wouldn’t hold them forever, however, and they might need to contribute a bit of their own force to stay in place. Emitting his own shadowy arms from his shadowy, Odd would wrap them around Celesta and lift her high into the air, as far out into the horde as he could manage. The Black Hole Eclipse could suck up as much as possible from up there.
“Hold on!” He cried out, maintaining the attack for as long as he was able to before it began to collapse upon itself, leaving him to collapse to his knees once again, recalling Celesta the moment the attack ended. Chances were that she was shadowfied after that, no matter if he recalled her or not. That much Shadow Virus being sucked into an infinite singularity of darkness practically held in her hands? She was a Shadow Pokemon, practically guaranteed. This was going to suck, trying to purify her, if he survived this battle. Dissonance released it’s Gravity at that point, allowing the other Snagems to move again. Hopefully, that attack had opened up a pathway to the Zapdos Heart, or maybe even managed to catch it in it’s pull and drag it closer?
