omg... yesterday me and my mother went out shopping and EVERY store we went to was COVERED in Christmas stuff! O_o;; its like Thanksgiving doesn't even exist anymore... they must move it out with Halloween stuff after October... I havent even seen very many Thanksgiving commercials or even any special things going on the week of Thanksgiving on tv! Its like its just been erased from everything and now its CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS! ._. its starting to scare me... everywhere people were already Christmas shopping... moving around stores like mindless Christmas zombies D: ... sure there are only like 2 weeks before Thanksgiving but I still would like to enjoy the short time I have left of fall.... of course this wont really mean anything to anyone who doesn't live in the US (and Canada to right??.. or at least thats what my mom said x.x) .. XD ... still though... what the hell happened Thanksgiving???

To be honest love over here in the uk most people do not understand the true meaning of thanks giving which also means that it is not celebrated here. But i was in america two years ago for thanks giving and i really enjoyed it was like having two christmas's ^_^ but i liked the whole idea of it and everything but your right though people seem to be hearing about this less and less.

thanksgiving is my 2nd favorite holiday! heart

i don't like how kids in america are taught the "history" of it though. i mean, the way they hear it, pilgrims stepped off the boat, said "what up!" to the native americans and a great meal was had! rolleyes it wasn't until i was in college that i learned the first thanksgiving didn't actually take place until THREE YEARS after the pilgrims showed up.

i hate how history is dumbed down for the masses. sweatdrop

They like leaving out the good part, because you can get little kids really excited over pagents but you aren't suppost to introduce them to the real world until thier high school is blown to bits.

Why not have kids givng eachother blankets infested with lice and chicken pox, and SARS, and smallpox, polo... and beating the s**t out of eachother, killing all the non-WASP kids... now THAT would be a pagent!

um, in my high school, i was taught all about how we killed a bunch of native americans off with smallpox blankets and all about the trail of tears and whatnot.

in fact, my crazy-a** native american chief of an uncle even came in and spoke about how much the government has lied to everyone about their treatment of native americans.

what i was saying was that LITTLE KIDS should be taught accurate history. stuff like explaining how difficult it was for the pilgrims in the beginning and how they had to really work and cultivate and stuff and how they wouldn't have had a decent harvest until at least the third year and stuff.

i was just trying to say that kids understand a lot more than people think they do, and are capable of grasping more complex ideas then they're being given in our public school systems. heart
