I need help, please. I found one, but it wanted me to download a program called 'system guard' which looked pretty scary when I looked it up on google.

I already downloaded the flv vids, and it appears that if I manage to fully load a vid, I can download it in milisecods, so if I bother to load something and want to be able to watch it again or edit it I can easily even on dial-up, well sort of.

The problem, is, of course, that flv is fairly useless as a file type.

stare Maybe this way I'll be able to not be so pissed when omeone posts a youtube link, because I'll only have to load it once, unless my net disconnects... like it did, right after I typed 'maybe this w' stare

LOL videodownloader.

I just use an http watcher to snatch the flv data.

But the same principles should apply.

I use SUPER to convert the files into anything else:

What's wrong with video downloadhelper?

Anyone else notice the new redirect page?

>.< I should have mentioned, I can't download AVG anti-virus because of what I've assumed is tat it takes too long and the dial-up says 'too long, you are done' at 60% so the file won't work... That's 29 mbs, but I can download avast anti-virus, 16mbs, so... I'm thinking 20mbs is about the max... sweatdrop
I hate liveing here...

You might want to find a download manager that allows you to split downloads, so you don't have to download it all at once.
*can't think of one off the top of my head*

confused Huh?

Just tell me how, on dial-up, I can convert flv to something I can use.

Oh, and I inally downloaded the first storyline vid, which I can't watch either, but I'm positive it downloaded correctly, it took goddamn long enough. So what to I got to do with that to watch it?

Apparently Windows media player sucks for anything but music, and i bet the similar thing on my Ubuntu disk is the same way, so maybe a commpressed download of a usable media player is in order... free, and safe... sweatdrop

Yes, I suck.

Try VLC media player. It's a free download, though it may be too big for you to get over dial-up. It can play anything (except newer DRM protected .wma's)

Neh, that's the community codec pack. It adds the same VLC-type functionality to other players, such as MPC player.

Here's the right link:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

And yes, it can play FLVs.

(Only 9mbs it appears)

Um... does it matter if I get zip, 7zip, or self-extracting?

Does FTP or http download matter?

Go with http, and choose self-extracting.

Especially DO NOT get 7zip.

It's just that 7zip is a compressed file type that requires an extractor, also called 7zip, in order to use it. >.> I didn't know if you had it or not.
