theres like a primary or something over here tonight and my mother wants to go out and vote but Im not sure I want to. I dont know enough about the candidates to really vote for one I like. Id like to have a little more info about them before I go picking out someone even if it isnt a real election...

If I had to choose right now Id probably pick Hillary razz mostly because shes the only one Ive actually heard plans from and if she can get us universal health care sign me the ******** up!

I like Obama to though but my problem with him is I hear alot of " Im new and Im going to change EVERYTHING!" ... but then.. not what hes changing, how hes going to change it, why hes gana change it and if it really needs to be changed... : / though I could use to get a little more info on him to... I mean all I know about him is from CNN...

all I know is I dont want to be like my hillbilly aunts and uncles -_-;; . their strategy of voting is voting for the person they think is going to win! They arent voting for the people they think are going to do the job right they simply vote for the one they think is going to end up winning. Even more ridiculous they like Hillary and Obama but they arent voting for them because they believe every hillbilly and redneck is going to come out and vote against them so its pointless..... : /

anyways guys what do you think? :3

Edit:

I wonder if i should have put this in Extended Discussion... D: oh well...

i agree that if u dont vote u dont really have a place to complain when they screw up in office...but at the same time i will anyway, so lalala, voting is moot.

I might not vote. I don't really know if I will or not
PostPosted: Sat Feb 09, 2008 12:50 am

If you don't know who you want, just know who you donj't want. I think both parties are down to 2 canidates. If you don't care much over hilary or obama, but REALLY don't want that old, boring rebublican guy go to the rebup. primaries and vote of huckabee.

See where I'm getting at? Just weight each side and vote to eliminate the canidate with the most likly hood of winning, but that you REALLY don't want to win.

They...vote for who they think is going to win. Wow.

I can't even vote in my primaries 'cause I was too busy to get registered at home before I went to college and I'm not registered in this state. Bah.

I WAS going to vote for Edwards, and when he dropped out it was Romney. Now...I don't know. I suppose I'll just have to hear more and pick the one I dislike the least (which is currently looking like Obama). xp I think it's unwise not to vote, personally, because so many people do that and then they b***h and moan about who got elected. No, they surrendered their right to state their opinion, and that's part of the consequence. If we had even a 20% higher voter turnout (making the total 70%, I believe), our country's elections would probably change drastically.

you should always vote.

its vote apathy that's got this country where it is today.

EVEN IF you don't like the candidates, research them and pick the lesser of two evils.

its hardly ever going to be someone you're absolutely in love with. there will ALWAYS be part of their campaign that irks you. but you STILL SHOULD VOTE.

its your duty as a citizen.

I personally don't believe in voting in the primaries, no real point to me, since it is just picking who is actually going to run, not to mention you can only vote for people in the party that you registered as. Now, I'm all for voting in the actual election though.

If Hilary wins for the Democrats, go McCain! xd

I'm not old enough to vote yet~ but I can tell ya now, there's no current candidate I'd want to be president.

Romney was the man I was rooting for but he dropped out... I'll never go with Hillary because she's a socialist and just an outright b***h. Huckabee is a freak.... so that leaves me with Obama and MaCain, two men I don't really care much about.

This will be a great presidental election.

I'll be eighteen just in time to vote in November, but I'm still not sure who I want to win. I'm not much for Hilary. I don't think this country is ready for a female president. . . and I don't think the other countries of the world are ready for that, either. Honestly, with Hilary as president, everyone else is going to look down on us simply because she's a woman. And I personally don't want more problems to result from that fact.

I can imagine Saudi Arabia laughing at us. Ugh. Bin Laden would get a kick out of it.

She has some good ideas, I guess. But I haven't really looked into her much. I just have some firm opinions about her, and I suppose I'm a bit sexist when I think about who I want leading my country. I think she'd be better off as vice-president. . .

You're not going to vote for her because she's a woman, other countries will look down on us, and we're not "ready" for a female president? Those are bad reasons for not voting for her. I wouldn't, but it has nothing to do with the fact that she's a woman. I don't think most countries are as sexist as you might think--other than sort of underdeveloped countries that have been living under the iron fists of severely politically corrupt dictators. And who really CARES what Saudi Arabia thinks, anyway? They already laugh at us for letting women (such as you or me) show our faces (and much more) in public. But that sure doesn't stop us from doing it! We're America and we ******** do what we want XD

This country is ready enough for a female president, just not that one. She's just a bad leader, and a bad candidate, regardless of her reproductive organs...if she had a p***s I'd STILL think she was a bad choice. Hell, I don't really want her for vice pres either.

EDIT: And to the OP, you should vote in the primaries. Young people are always being disregarded in campaign targets because we're so apathetic about our country and uninvolved. I didn't vote in my state's primaries and I regret it...though I don't think the Democrats got to come to my state for some dumb reason, and they're all I was really concerned with anyway. But I agree, there's no point in voting blindly. Do your homework first and look up what those candidates want to do and how they plan on doing it ^^

Yes, I haven't looked into it all yet, as I said. But I wouldn't feel as secure with a female president as I would with a male president. But that's just me. I do tend to be sexist, even though I'm a woman. I'm not sure why, but I have a certain distaste for women. Girls are scandalous x.x

Oh, yes, girls are scandalous. But just look at, say, Bill Clinton, or pretty much ANY president we've had. Politics is scandal. And most politicians are scandalous, that's one of the things people love to hate about them.
