I just can't believe this happened

My dad passed away as of 3:30 my time this afternoon. He was 47 years old.... I just don't know what to do anymore. He was supposed to be there when i graduated. I wanted him to see me walk the stage.

I really don't know how to express my condolences without seeming insincere or like an idiot...

But what if THEY need someone around? I'm not trying to sound like I'm chasing you away or anything, Sephy, but running to us won't make it any better. I am sorry for you, and the thought of the potential events lost to you sadden me even more. But we are not the right people to talk about these things with. We are your friends, but familial bonds surpass the bonds between friends, especially when placed under duress.
Maybe I'm just babbling, or perhaps I am simply afraid of the talk of death, but the fact of the matter is that we cannot, through text, accurately express our feelings towards this event.
...And now I sound like a complete a**.

EDIT: Oh. Well. I guess that makes my ideas invalid at this point...

I get what you're saying Erv but I assure you, there are times when you need some time to yourself. Or time with people who AREN'T hurting as much as you. You can only do so much to support other people in your family and even if they can help support you too you might need a break from them. Seph might not even be here for very long, its just a little break, a little bit of alone time, a moment to breath before going back to all the hurt and pain you're going to feel

I know what you mean Erv. But its just too stuffy there. I needed the comfort of my own bed, my home, etc. I did everything i could and there are tons of people there right now. My mom my brother and i were only 3 of about 20

This is going to sound mean, but it's all you can do.

Move on with your life. Don't dwell on the fact that he's gone, instead remember the good times you had with him. The sooner you realize this the faster you'll be able to get over it.
