Laures
Morals and values: After a foalhood of being shunned and unwanted by any member of his family, except his eldest sister, he has a strong attachment to the dream of having a large, loving family of his own. He is well-mannered and polite, this is at times used to hide the deep-seated insecurity his upbringing left him with. He will not ever resort to violence or stand for those who are weak to be picked on, even if it leads to him being injured.
Likes: travelling and seeing new things, being butterfly sized, singing and telling stories, playing around
Dislikes: water in all its various incarnations, cold, bullies, unexpected physical contact, his wings being messed with
Personality: He is a gentle soul, and a gentleman. Though he is quick to call others “friends” they are usually acquaintances unless they have had some major impact on him. Seemingly always happy-go-lucky, he often comes across as rather less intelligent as he is, and one-dimensional. At times immature, he has reluctantly grown up somewhat- his “good is good, evil is evil and there is no in-between” attitude has been completely shattered and he realizes that there are shades of grey in the world. He often acts rather colt-ish but is more than capable of being serious if the situation calls for it.
Backstory: Laures has no idea of his past. Random flashes of memory sometimes overtake him. Voices from the past, soothing, comforting. Or rather a single voice he believes to belong to a member of the family he knows he had, but has forgotten. Voices relating stories of Paradise.
Of a land of beauty- herds of flutters living together in harmony, with little to no violence or harsh words, everyone enjoying themselves to the fullest- no cares or worries. This was the land where flutters first came into being, but for some reason they were banished to live amongst the others. The land of flutters is near impossible to find.
This story inspired in Laures a love of adventure, and a desire to one day find this mythical place. For truly, who wouldn't want to live in a place of perfect peace?
Plots:
1) Having been in an accident that was severe enough to ground Laures for quite a while so he could heal, he's grown somewhat leery of going out adventuring- something that he'd once adored. Slowly, he's taken to wandering, but still remaining close to the area he'd come to claim as home.
He needs to find someone who will help him to overcome this new fear.

Personality: Like the reed in the river, though there be adversity, Liliah would bend rather then break. She has a very passionate soul that can find beauty in almost anything. She is at times very shy and hard to get know, but is very loyal. Though innocent, she is hardly naive.
History: One would think that growing up the only regular in a herd that was comprised of unis and kirin would cause one to feel like an outcast or have an inferiority complex, but in the case of Liliah, it was just the opposite.
As a basket, she was found and adopted by the newly appointed mystic of a uni/kirin herd who dedicated themselves strictly to wandering the plains and healing anyone regardless of race or appearance. When she left her basket, the herd was slightly taken aback- it wasn't that they were prejudiced or anything, but as they tended to take mates from within the herd, there were no other races- to find that their newest member was a simple regular, they had no idea on how to treat her.
It was, at first, thanks only to the respect her "big brother" commanded as a mystic that she was grudgingly accepted. But as she grew and exhibited a great curiousity for herb lore, and her calm sweet demeanor, that she became loved for her own sake, became the herd's treasure. Though she spent some time as the herd's darling, and studying, alas the time time was cut short.
One day her protector had a strong feeling that Liliah was needed elsewhere, or her presence might become a danger to the herd. He took his information to the Alpha mare as was his duty, and waited for the command to send her away. To his great surprise, she wasn't to be sent away immediately. A great counsel was convened to discuss the matter. While the issue was hotly debated, Liliah heard and took it upon herself to inform the alpha and elders that if what her brother "felt" was true, then she would leave, though it would be with a heavy heart.
After a tearful good-bye, and whispered promises that they would see eachother again, Liliah left. She wandered for quite a while until she reached the Kawani lands...

History: The second of two baskets resulting from a one night stand between Lady Liliah and Sha Gojyo.This was accidental, and the extremely young mare, while not ready to be a mom is not of the mindset that the offspring are unwanted. She had always believed that life is a precious gift, and so despite her discomfort and misgivings, she wants to try to be a good parent, but she is incapable of caring for both and cannot commit to the stallion so the baskets are split up between the two.
(( There are no real hard feelings on Liliah's side, and so she will tell her foal about its sire, encouraging its interest and desire to know him))

1. Adventure Gone Wrong- Zoey and another foal decide to go on an "adventure" there is a small natural accident and the other foal is mildly hurt (bruises and scrapes nothing big). Knowing that she is a unicorn, she knows she has the ability to heal, and so she tries. The results are much less then she expects, and she wonders what is wrong with her.
2. What is wrong with me? - A mother/daughter chat leaves Zoey mildly confused and more than a little depressed.
3. Wandering Storyteller - One day Zoey chances upon a storyteller with the most remarkable tales- adventure, and fairytales, romance and family, and most importantly ordinary beings with no special powers who become great on their own. She starts to think that maybe she could be something special after all. She now has a goal, a dream, something to strive for.
4. Where's Maman? - The stress of being a single parent, and at so young an age, becomes too much for Liliah to handle. And with a lot of sadness and regret, she leaves Zoey to survive on her own. Zoey knows that there is no way she can survive without someone else. And so the great Parent Search begins.
5. Will you be my Maman/Papa? - Zoey looks for a family.

Requirements for lifemate (taken directly from her LR entry)-"While she is very much like her sire-in that she sees the advantage and beauty in having multiple partners- she also has experience in what such attitudes and behaviors do to families, having seen what it did to her own. As such she is very leery about giving her heart to just any stallion. When she does mate, she will be faithful to that stallion alone, though she will still be a bit of a flirt. It is, after all, in her nature to see beauty and admire it in all forms it comes in.

Personality: Inquisitive, lively and bright, the stallion matured
quickly because of the burdens placed on his shoulders at a very young age. Due to said responsibilities, he has learned to place duty first before anything else, though deep down, he longs for the chance to cast off the shackles of his position and find out who he is.
History: When he was a very young foal, Gio was adopted by his herd’s mystic and second-in-command who had no heirs, and groomed to take over the position. He was a brightly lively colt with an insatiable curiosity and desire to learn.
He was encouraged in his pursuits and not coddled. From the beginning he was made aware that he would suffer the consequences of his actions. This forced him to actually think things through.
When he was a young adult, his mentor died and he was forced to take his position and bear the weights and responsibilities, which many thought he was yet too young to handle. But he proved he was more than ready to take his place among the herd during the investiture ceremony where he voluntarily gave up his sight and took the marks of the herd Mystic.
At the ceremony as the paste which would mark him as special, different- the herd’s mystic- set apart, he bore the scarring of his eyes and loss of his sight without a whimper, proving that he was willing to suffer for his charge.
New to his position, the very young stallion literally stumbled upon a solitary basket during one of his walks to clear his mind. Not sensing any parents around, he couldn’t leave the poor defenseless thing to be destroyed. So he carefully dragged it back to the herd and announced his intentions to adopt the foal, sight unseen. The herd matriarch denied his request, but upon hearing the story, she relented enough that the foal would be taken in, but the duty to raise it would not be added to his burdens- the herd would band together and take their turns to care for the little one. But if it was his desire, the mystic would allow him to claim it as his sibling.
Though the entire herd was rather amazed to find that the newest member was a mere regular, and they didn’t know her physical limitations, so they treated her as glass. Early after hatching, Gio convinced the herd elders to give his “sister” the same markings he bore, showing that she was family of the mystic, that she was under his protection.
Then came the day that broke his heart. He was forced to put the safety of the herd before the ties of family. He did what all believed was right, including the sister he was cruelly betraying. He brought to the attention of the other herd leaders the existence of a danger to the herd- in the form of his sister. Steeled to banish her himself, the young stallion was shocked when the council was needed to come to a decision.
In the end, she had taken it upon herself to leave. Though it broke his heart, he watched her leave. Though he promised that one day, he would see her again…
*note that while his sight could be healed, he chooses to remain blind, even when he is no longer a herd mystic.*
